Any tips for Veteran difficulty?

Can't even get out of the prologue with the freaking invisible enemy after you pick up your first anomaly. Am I supposed to just run away?

Grab the artifact, run back into the bunker, put your back to a wall and watch the light reveal the shimmer, fire at the shimmer, move to the side when he lunges at you, rinse repeat process for about 50 bullets.

haha yeah i just waited til he got close, sprinted as if i was dodging at 90 degress, and turned while he was visible and pumped ammo into him. took me about 10 tries of seeing his stupid face on the death screen.

If you can't get through the prologue you need to lower the difficulty my dude. You are not gonna have a good time at all otherwise. or you know .... git gud

Game balance is very "spongy" on veteran. I would recommend just playing on stalker difficulty if it's too annoying.

just run away, you can jump over the fence in the house next to the science bunker and the cloaky ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cannot follow you, they dont drop anything anyway

Circlestrafe back. AFAIK bloodsuckers path in straight lines, they cant hit you.

Listen for the bloodsuckers movements, and move at an angle of about 30 degrees parallel to what you think his current position is. He will come at you in a straight line when he jumps out of stealth, so moving like that will allow you to dodge the attack he uses when he jumps out of stealth and lay some rounds into him. Rinse and repeat until he is dead.

first download the groks difficulty overall that doesnt make you do 20% damage with your guns, you can find it on nexus mods

Yeah, I got a tip. And it hurts me to give it. Play on medium. Unless you enjoy nerfed weapon damage and bullet sponge mutants.

I got through it, played a bit after the prologue and was able to sweep some camps. I'm pretty good at FPS, just wasn't sure what the game was teaching me. I ran away and was able to down the thing. Humans are cake compared to the monsters. Feel like you're being taught to run away/kite them.
