I'm having the same exact issue after a death in Cordon (in the electric tunnel). Any save I load now crashes my game. Tried verifying files + restarting, no luck so far.

Same here. Every time I try to load a save in cordon it causes the game to crash. saves in other zones load fine.

I was able to successfully load an autosave from ~45 minutes prior. Any save after that specific save would instant crash my game. All of the "corrupted" saves also took place after I had a seemingly random ~20 second freeze when travelling around, unsure if related. Freeze occurred during the "A Light in the End of the Tunnel" quest shortly after picking up the Emitter. Good luck.

I had the same thing! I think after entering the caustic tunnel after picking up the emitter is when the saves got corrupted.

Found a solution. Dont exit the tunnel via the caustic sewers backtrack all the way to the entrance and it shouldnt corrupt your save.

This worked for me too. I wonder what causes the save to corrupt by exiting through the sewers

I lost like 2 hrs and am so lucky that the game still had an autosave from before I completed "A Light in the End of the Tunnel". thankfully I found this thread and it saved my game, cheers!

I went all the way down past the Monolith device into the downstairs area. Consistent crash every time. So I went back to the entrance. The teal double doors were locked again and after parkouring around, there was another section a little further that would instantly crash my game, leaving me softlocked. Nice beta I paid for.

After loading a save a little before the device and poltergeist fight, it seems that second section that crashes my game is a loading section because my game had a large microstutter there.

Thank you so much for posting this, I thought I had a completely different issue because I moved past this point and went to a completely different area.

There is definitely something wrong with this section of the game. I think I found the exact location. When you start stepping down the stairs to go to the tunnels after you grab the emitter the game does a really hard freeze for a few seconds. After you pass through the two steel doors after the button the lock and you cannot backtrack so dont pass that point.

I have lost a few hours of progress but at least I don't have to restart my 40 hour character from the very beginning.

After playing the game a bit longer, there is a problem with how loading areas works. There were several times where I would have a hard freeze for five seconds, which I thought was a crash, and then it would resolve. I have no idea what it would be other than related to their technology how have no loading zones between areas.

Did you have issues with your saves in these other areas too or just this one spot?

I have had crashes, (way too many since my first post) but not like this where I would be permanently softlocked. In the tunnel is the only place where it would "crash" but I would have to close it. It did not like releasing control of the monitor when I alt-tabbed. All the other times it's just been either a freeze --> let go or a full blown crash to desktop

I died from several bloodsuckers during the liquidation of the Bravo group, after that any saves stopped loading, so this happens not only in the tunnel

Were you able to progress past this somehow or is it now a wall?
