Im suppose to meet the brood, but the house door is locked, and im not sure what to do next?
You're supposed to get this quest from the trader in the Slag Heap who has all the guns behind him and then go follow the quest progression etc.
If you get the item before you're supposed to, the quest does not update in your "journal" and will still tell you to meet with the brood or whatever.
I went to the house near garbage AFTER getting the quest item and was probably just as confused as you. The front door was locked, no bandits spawned to "talk to" as the quest marker told me to do. I reloaded saves multiple times- sometimes bandits would spawn but they had zero option to talk to besides the generic Oblivion rumors option. After reading online guides I saw something about climbing on the excavator out back to climb through the roof. Once inside you're supposed to loot bodies and then interact with a radio- I went in and there were zero bodies (regardless if the rando bandits outside spawned or not).
Eventually I gave up and just went back to the quest giver, Huron at the Slag Heap, and picked "about your shipment" when talking to him. He took the quest items and gave me monies and that solved my issue.
tldr: If the quest is glitched and you already have the shipment- just go back to Huron and talk to him to get rid of the item/finish the quest early.
Yep, this is the way to do it. Unfortunately for me the quest is still unresolved in my journal. but I got rid of the 4kg brick, got my prizes from huron and a few other nice things as well, so I'm OK with it. I'll just ignore this blue !
If the reward is simply the coupons, I think I technically delivered and got my reward
Hoping a patch closes the task in my journal instead of keeping it in a bugged state
