30 Minutes compiling shaders at every startup
Every time I start the game it takes upwards of 20-30 minutes for the shaders to compile. Ive been having issues with the game crashing but from what I read the time should get shorter after the initial startup. Is there anything I can do? Right now nearly all my play time on steam has just been loading the game.

Mine still compile every start but take about 45s. So yes, it should decrease but not sure why they compile every time anyway.

Because if not UE5 will stutter horribly.

Mine are 10-15 minutes. Its still very annoying. Why should you need to do this every time you start the game. Real bad game design. I have several games on this UE5 engine. They compile once and then every time after is ts like 10 seconds to pass through. So don't say totally doing it over again every time is an UE5 thing.

It's really unusual! At the first start it took ~10 minutes which is long but still acceptable, but for every following start it shouldn't happen at all! (Except after installing new graphic-drivers or changing fundamental values in the graphic settings)

funny, my compilation of said shaders only takes about 15 to 20 seconds...
can't even get a coffee in time....

so we've learned it depends on your computer... or lack of said machine

exactly. That has been my experience with other UE5 games.

Depends on your rig and when you update your graphics card. When you update your GPU it deletes your shader cache. Always makes UE5 games stutter for a bit after an update.

Sorry but same drivers for most of those complaining about this. No changes made at all.

Are you using a mechanical hdd for the game or the os drive?

Compiling shaders runs the cpu at 100%. Run msi afterburner and see what the cpu clocks/temperatures do. Thermal throttling? If thermal throttling can Reduce PL2 in the bios to a lower limit. Will be called different things in different bioses. Can do other stuff also.

I'm going to assume you're NOT being hyperbolic. In that case, you need to see if you're still using a mechanical drive and report how much RAM you have, because that's what this sounds like. I'm using a blazing standard of M.2 drive, and FIRST launch took about 4 minutes. Every launch after takes about 60 seconds (which is apparently still kinda buggy).

Anything at 7+ minutes is some kind of hardware bottleneck, and that's being pretty liberal with that time slot.

I love STALKER games and want everyone to play them, but if any of the above is the case for you, refund and come back to it later. Don't tarnish your experience.

SSD or HDD? Cause I'm on an SSD and it's less than a minute every time

lol...M2 drive and SSDs. The game is taking the exact same time every single time as it did the first time, That is what people are complaining about, I am well aware of how long it should take after it initially compile them. But it recompiling them every time obviously. We expect a long time first time..not every time. You guys are not understanding the issue.

That's too bad. I hope the devs change the shader compilation process to not require additional work every time the game loads. (edit typos)

I have a high end rig, rtx4090 etc, still happens every start up and takes about 10+mins
