Seems Anomaly is really messing with expectations.
People are either complaining it didn't have the micromanagement of GAMMA or the mutant harvesting of Anomaly.

Even A-Life only truly shone with mods. Sort of expected, still, kinda crazy to compare a gigantic modpack they took ages to develop and merge all games together with a new base game.

I think it's to be expected.

For many, Anomaly and GAMMA are what they experienced before base STALKER games. Either by playing it themselves, or watching it on Youtube. And even if not, there are those who think GAMMA and Anomaly improved on the base game in a lot of ways, and believe GSC should have been taking notes from said mods.

Not really saying they're right or wrong, but it was unavoidable.

Yes, lot of people compare alot of different versions, mods and complete overhauls. There isnt single stalker experience, there is vanilla and moded experience with further divisions to "vanilla friendly" mods and complete overhauls like Misery, Anomaly and by proxy GAMMA. Its mess of everyone expecting something else.

Im really enjoying the game, however more than anything it keeps making me want to go play GAMMA after I finish it. Not a bad thing tbh and I know in the future if someone decides to mod STALKER 2 in the same way it will be insanely good.

Not sure why I'm getting a laugh award but thanks for the points anonymous user.

Yeah, I played the base STALKERs and they are *COMPLETELY* different from ANOMALY and GAMMA. Worlds different.

So I can understand why so many are moaning.

Even then, they did give some nods and QoL from ANOMALY. Which was surprising.
Knowing stalker, theres good chance the dev will continue updating with features that we loved from anomaly

we're day 2 into launch and devs are grinding to fix the current issues, they dont even have pointshop set up.

so honestly, the silence to me is the grind, odds are we'll get these features soon enough eventually.
anomaly and gamma should be the standard, what is good deserves to be the norm.

we deserve quality.

ANOMALY had great A-Life, but it had problems with balance. Humorously, the bad balance of ANOMALY seems to have appeared in 2, which I thought was hilarious

Own the original, never played it outside of like an hour when it first came out. Never played COP or CS, never did anomaly or gamma and my experience of this game is pretty simple to explain. "Mediocre." granted, this is "My" experience and yours might vary, but this is from an unbiased sightline. The AI is laughable, the resource management is non-existent due to the sheer amount you obtain. The repair cost on anything that isn't a named weapon is barely noticeable and of course the mutants are more of a nuisance than a terrifying presence.

After around 5 and a half hours on veteran difficulty, I finally stepped out of the lesser zone and went into the power plant district, only to be met with a bloodsucker that phased through a closed door, hit me and went back out the same door, but had to open it to leave. Quality isn't something I'd say this game is, in any shape or form, but it is passable.

Even if there's no A-life system in this game, the NPC spawning system is still the worst I've ever experienced in an open world game. I just replayed vanilla Shadow of Chornobyl earlier this year, it's a janky game but the illusion of the world being alive and dynamic was far better than it is here, because it's just straight up broken in STALKER 2. I really hope they can fix it.

Pretty much expected and I wonder why they didn't take a few notes, things like even harvesting could have improved immersion. I only hope the modding tools are robust, because it could really benefit from the thriving modding community the base game has.

Anomaly is where it truly shone, it was fun in clear Sky too, but having a huge world with many maps made it stand out. Problem with Anomaly is that once you gained power you just steamrolled everything.

GAMMA and EFP made the progression much slower.

To be fair, the original games's balance was also ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in like tons of aspects. A lot of times you were instantly dead, until you get good armor and then you could pretty much bullrush enemies. When you got a decent weapon with AP rounds you could just clean sweep the rest of the game.

The problem with the resources, is that, the game literally feeds you resources by the bugged radial stopgate, they got going. Which is a part of the problem. Normally, you have to seek out resources in the OGs. Not so, in 2, instead you can wait, and the game will passively throw mobs at you.

Which breaks the economy somewhat.

Could be I'm misremembering then, or it was removed on later games. At least in call of Pripyat i replayed I couldn't do it.
