Keyboard and Mouse?
Does this game play well with keyboard and mouse or is it more for a controller?

I mean it's a first person shooter. - if you've played ANY other FPS then... do whatever you prefer with that.
The Majority opinion is going to be mouse and keyboard, particularly for the extra precision of mouse aiming.

At the moment keyboard and mouse is unplayable as there are ton of hardcoded keyboard bindings and mouse sensitivity seems to be bugged

Hardly "unplayable". Sensitivity is fine for me and the couple keybinds can be worked around.

Im left handed and due to hardcoded keybindings im not able to use numpad thus i cant play. Sure i could use external keybinder but using an external keybinder for a game i paid 110 euros for is insulting. If its not fixed in steam refund grace period im refunding and maybe ill buy in for sale for 10-20 euro.

its not unplayable just annoying like the 4 quick items sharing 2 buttons and to use the other 2 is holding the button.
then theres the annoying radial menu for equipping detector and flashlight otherwise its pretty good

Well, while I feel for you, it would be more accurate to say it's hard for someone left handed to play. But to say in general it's "unplayable" isn't true.

- Like I guess if you know the OP is left-handed then fine, but it's kinda weird otherwise.

what this guy said is true... So dont buy if your a kb&m player

As a kb/m player I guess I'll hold off. I had a feeling the controls would be kinda jank since all the new games seem to focus on consoles first these days.

Only one key I can’t rebind that I care about: Flashlight. Thankfully it’s middle mouse button, so it’s accessible.

The KB bindings change does not take effect until game restart. Sucks but you're likely to need it only once.

Mouse sensitivity setting on the other hand is terrible. In most FPS I'm fine at around 7-12% sensitivity.... In this game the literal 0% is too high for me

no, it's FPS meant for kb&m. There is almost zero consolitis. The "issues" (which are solvable) come from a weird default/factory settings and the not-so-great perfomance requiring some tweaks.

If you've played old games on PC you will be fine. If you need a "Turn On & Play" experience.. well, that's what consoles are for.

For example, there is a weird default that vertical and horizontal axis have different sensitivity. Adjustable in configs. Game only supports double buffer vsync, so if you don't have stellar performace (and you won't) there is a expectable mouse lag coming with it. Solved by disabling ingame vsync and using the driver one.

Plus some more tweaks mostly meant for stabilize FPS (therefore better mouse response). Some shortcuts and advanced settings can only be done in configs, some oversights like hard coded W-S for going up/down ladders even if you remap movement...

Rough around the edges. Playable with some love. A bit DIY tho. But we are PC Gamers, DIY is the definition of PC gaming.

There's a workaround for the mouse sensitivity in the discussions already:

Agreed. I'm very disappointed. Looks like a great game but I'm all thumbs with a controller. I learned to play with mouse and keyboard 30 years ago and that's what I know. Why hasn't this been fixed!?
Don´t necro this thread. ^^

I got used to the standard layout, but I hope no dev will ever pack functions next to WASD again, because I missed W a lot in the beginning and instead of running into cover suddenly I was eating a bread or drinking an energy drink. ^^

The game has heavy input lag so whether you use a controller or Keyboard/Mouse there will be weird responses to either setup.

The keyboard and mouse main menu key configuration doesn't really work right now. Unless you want to go into the controls file and do some programming things like bolt throwing, quick-melee, flashlight and even climbing up/down ladders cannot be programmed.

Here is a thread on making those changes:

The mod's have stated that the keyboard configuration limitations will be addressed in the next patch.
