The Majority opinion is going to be mouse and keyboard, particularly for the extra precision of mouse aiming.
then theres the annoying radial menu for equipping detector and flashlight otherwise its pretty good
- Like I guess if you know the OP is left-handed then fine, but it's kinda weird otherwise.
As a kb/m player I guess I'll hold off. I had a feeling the controls would be kinda jank since all the new games seem to focus on consoles first these days.
Mouse sensitivity setting on the other hand is terrible. In most FPS I'm fine at around 7-12% sensitivity.... In this game the literal 0% is too high for me
If you've played old games on PC you will be fine. If you need a "Turn On & Play" experience.. well, that's what consoles are for.
For example, there is a weird default that vertical and horizontal axis have different sensitivity. Adjustable in configs. Game only supports double buffer vsync, so if you don't have stellar performace (and you won't) there is a expectable mouse lag coming with it. Solved by disabling ingame vsync and using the driver one.
Plus some more tweaks mostly meant for stabilize FPS (therefore better mouse response). Some shortcuts and advanced settings can only be done in configs, some oversights like hard coded W-S for going up/down ladders even if you remap movement...
Rough around the edges. Playable with some love. A bit DIY tho. But we are PC Gamers, DIY is the definition of PC gaming.

Agreed. I'm very disappointed. Looks like a great game but I'm all thumbs with a controller. I learned to play with mouse and keyboard 30 years ago and that's what I know. Why hasn't this been fixed!?
I got used to the standard layout, but I hope no dev will ever pack functions next to WASD again, because I missed W a lot in the beginning and instead of running into cover suddenly I was eating a bread or drinking an energy drink. ^^
The keyboard and mouse main menu key configuration doesn't really work right now. Unless you want to go into the controls file and do some programming things like bolt throwing, quick-melee, flashlight and even climbing up/down ladders cannot be programmed.
Here is a thread on making those changes:

The mod's have stated that the keyboard configuration limitations will be addressed in the next patch.
