Why is there no female protagonist option ?
As a passionate female gamer who enjoys a variety of games, I can’t help but feel excluded from the world of STALKER 2. Many other girls likely share this sentiment, and I’d love to explain why, hoping you’ll hear me out.

First and foremost, the prevailing “dude bro” culture surrounding these games is anything but welcoming to female players. We are greeted by a hyper-masculine atmosphere that seems to echo a frat party vibe, making it uncomfortable for us to dive into these worlds. Moreover, there is a glaring lack of female characters available in these games. There’s simply no option for us to choose a character that represents our gender; it’s as if we’re invisible in this universe.

Now, I’m not suggesting that STALKER 2 needs to embody this exact dynamic.
There seems to be no valid reason preventing the inclusion of a female gopnik for us girls to enjoy. I’m not interested in embodying a massive, muscular male character that lacks appeal for many female gamers. Instead, I’d love the opportunity to play as a character that’s cute and fierce or perhaps a badass girl boss.

The absence of female characters feels like a form of gatekeeping, which is surprising in 2024, almost 2025. There’s no need for gaming companies to exclusively target a narrow audience of stereotypical “sweaty nerds” or “gym guys.” By broadening their appeal to include female gamers, these games could capture a significantly wider audience, enhancing their popularity and success.

Thanks for reading me !

PS : Troll needs no apply, I just wanna have a peaceful discussion here, thanks for your respect.

would have liked a female player character too. it does lack on women so far in my playtime. never really enjoyed playing as a man in games, just my personal preference.

Because the protagonist isn't a self-insert. That's it.

You can just lay your food on the rocks and let the radioactivity cook them.

So, you're not playing as a self inserted character here. This is a story about a man named Skif and HIS trek through the Zone. Not all games are tailored to have character creation or the inclusion of one sex or another. If we're going by that standard, why don't we get a bad ass dude to play in Bayonetta, Horizon Zero Dawn, Stellar Blade, Parasite Eve, Dino-Crisis, TOMB RAIDER.....

See what I'm getting at here? Those games are tailored to tell the story of ONE person, not a self inserted character. I can recommend to you though if you want a STALKER vibe type of game that you can do this.... DayZ has plenty of custom maps even RP ones where you and others actually roleplay that you're in the Zone. Custom enemies, NPC AI, etc.
can't remember any females in any stalker game

Well, I mean STALKER-like... Metro? Tons of ladies in that game but all NPC's.
Crovalicious Nov 21, 2024 @ 8:53am
The zone doesn't have any women from what I can remember. I think that it is thematically appropriate, because the Zone is a barren wasteland in every possible sense. Whether that thematic element justifies the choice to leave out female characters is up to you.

It is called body type B. If you mean the shape.
Anyone can be a woman or whenever they want. That's called genderfluid.

LOL Dis dude here, trolling like a Fleshy.
