Heavy key glitch

Detention center there is a heavy key. When i try to pick it up it gets lost immediately.

i just got to the place and know what you mean.
the game told me, as i picked the key up, that i lost it.
just go to the basement in the same building and try to open the door.
still worked for me and i "lost" the key a 2nd time.

Also worked for me despite disappearing.

Literally did this earlier today. It's a glitch but also a fake-out. The key is still in your inventory and will work on the door it's meant for.

For me it was on the roof !

i did.
if i remeber correctly, it was in a flame pillar on a barrel?
some artifacts can move around inside the anomaly area.
since those are anomalys do dot, you could just quicksave, run through everything with detector in hand and try to get it to show up, quickload and look where it was.
most of the time it should be more or less in the same spot.

depending on your gear, it might even not be worth it, unless you get a rare artifact.
the repair cost can skyrocket, and your new artifact wont cover it, depending on the anomaly field, you are running around in.

as of now, i got 2 legendary artifacts and both in the garbage.
dont know how rare they are and if your detector increases your chance of rare artifacts but is still have the basic one, since i didn't steal a better one, while doing a certain quest...

I loaded last save and remove items from inventory so im at green heavy and the key stayed in the inventory
