Telling friend from foe?
Advanced stalker players do you have some way to tell friend from foe before you get close enough and start getting shot at?

Several times i already see a shootout where i have to get close enough to see who shoots at me to know which one is the actually enemy. Is there a way to tell with out getting in the face first? (The hud does not display red dots before you get shot at)

Your crosshair changes color to green, when looking at friendlies. Better to use a dot crosshair for all weapons. If its white be cautious, those are enemies most of the time but not always.
You will also start recognizing factions by their equipment.

And most importantly you could use the binocular to scout ahead and that will easily detects humans, mutants so you could plan your approach better.

That is the reson why are no Binos in this 2024 version of Stalker If you use Scopes you can see that there nothing... you get closer. Still nothing. Youget 15-20 m close and enemys or allays spawn... after the first wave the will spaw in you back or like 7m away. The spawn system is so broken. If you want any emersion don't play till fixed. And don't tell me it got broken sortly before lunch. There so many signs that this game is far, far away from its gold pass. Will stop playing for now i hope they get things done in the next half year or year.
never had an issue like this - while they do spawn its usually 50-100 meters.

The crosshair went green on both friendlies and enemies on my end, might be a bug tho. How I distinguish friends from foes is the compass.

When you see NPC's walking, watch your compass. If you see red triangles, that means they are enemy. If there is non red triangle, they are friendly.

You can use binoculars, but the original games had extremely distinct faction identities bandits wore fade masks and would look generally shady wearing darker cloths. Duty wore red military desk gear, freedom wore Green seemingly lower budget military gear, Mercs wore blue and black police looking gear and so on. Stalker 2’s factions mostly wear similarly colored flowery hoodies so it’s extremely hard to tell. However the binos were a thing as far back as Clear Sky and worked in a similar way.
I said this before…

There aren’t any in this game, but there were in the previous games.

Probably means weapon scopes.

I have the same issue because I hide the reticle for immersion. I have to wait for them to open fire before I can gauge if they are an enemy, this means I'm dead and have to reload because in order to beat a load of enemies you need the advantage. This is a broken system.
