something im not understanding about artifact hunting
When our Echo detector starts beeping like crazy does that always means that an artifact is close to us? Because I standing hear a toxic cloud and my echo detector is beeping super fast and non stop and there is no artifact.

The lamp on it needs to shine blue for there to be a artifact.

If the detector is actually emiting a light, there is an artifact nearby. If it just beeps with no light, there's an anomaly nearby. The beeping is to warn you of danger, while the beeping+light tells you of a nearby artefact.

Artifacts remain invisible until you are very close to them. If you keep moving towards the direction that makes the detector flash more frequently, it will kind of pop into existence in front of you.

There's two beeps you might be hearing. One is the detector, and yes, it beeps faster closer to the artifact and stops when you get to it - the light also flashes. The other is a beep from being near an anomaly.
