Well the review said something about Ultimate chests, or whatever they were called, where they had picked up stuff that was so good that he couldn't not use them =)
Ah ok, the guy that posted the review only had like 9 hours but already picked up a few of them so it seemed to me like it was a bit too easy to find.
But then I know I guess =)
a) Durability is a thing. Unless you're happy to run off to find a tech and burn through money keeping your kit maintained after every few encounters you'll want to carry spares.
b) There's not really an 'OP' set up. It's less about the gear itself and more about the upgrades you apply to it; and most of the time that involves trade-offs - you can have either the bigger mag or the upgraded calibre for example. Which works better for you is going to depend primarily on playstyle. That's before you consider that weight permeates everything; not much point having the most powerful gun and highest protection armour if you can't carry the loot back after the mission.
