as for your FIRST stalker game, I honestly recommend one of the OG games first, Call of Pripyat is a fan favourite, though i have been thoroughly enjoying Shadows of Chernobyl whilst waiting for this game to release
wait for this to receive a few patches, and/or a small sale
if you're a gamer from the "everything has to run 120+FPS flawlessly regardless of my setup or settings" generation, then i would not recommend this game until it receives some updates
That being said, the game so far is decent, but it's definitely got some issues at the moment. It runs fine for me, but I can see some areas in need of improvement, such as AI, mutants need another pass, and so on.
Jesus christ dude, you literally hate post on every single thread on this forum. Exactly how fat are you and how long have you lived with mom and dad? Serious questions. You need a life, lmfao.
Lowering settings does not seem to help.
I have read of people with lower spec not having issues. So its unclear whats wrong.
But the gameplay itself is great. Love it.
I hope they fix it soon. Right now the game is unplayable at times.
played this on gamepass for a few hours and i'm not playing any more. feels like a game from 10 years ago without any of the modern polish or quality of life that most of the nostalgia cash in games try to modernize with to make it more fun or at least palatable. Understandable that some people may want a jank simulator but for 60 dollars that's a no from me dawg.
yikes, standards are slipping hard.
Immersion and environmental world building are off the charts. Just exploring the zone feels super immersive. The game definitely rewards exploration.
Human combat AI mostly feels really good. I'm really not a fan of super tanky mutants but I might learn to live with it. Eventually.
The in-game economy is an artificial impediment to progress and I find it very irritating.
On my rig (AMD 5950X, RTX 3090, 32GB PC4000 RAM, running on an NVME drive) at 1440P I get between 70 - 130 fps with every graphical setting at maximum except DLSS which is at Quality setting. Overall very playable for me.
I'm only 5 hours in so can't comment on the main story but I've been doing side quests which so far have been enjoyable and worth the effort.
If you love the older games and have been playing all the mods that have been keeping the franchise alive, then you are going to love this. It's Stalker with a fresh coat of paint.
BUT if this is your first time into the zone, then it's gonna be a hard sell. It pretty much is a game from 10 years ago. It is so set in it's ways and I'm there for it.
