Yep, I want to know that as well. Getting a refund. I don't want to wait 10 min for the game to start, I don't have all the time in the world to game. Never saw a game that required it ever time you start.

TBH......idk why people complain. There's a setting you can change in nvidia to put shader complie GB. its reasonble.

but Roguetech told me to change the shader cache to 50gb so i did. it helped me load up speed times like this i guess?
Korben Dallas Nov 20, 2024 @ 8:55pm
which is to say im not spending minutes loading shaders

Where can you set it up? Couldn't find anything in the NVIDIA Control Panel
Korben Dallas Nov 20, 2024 @ 9:19pm
it's not in nvidia control, you have to change your shader cache from system. google it i aint about to go down that rabbit hole again.

First time it takes like 5-10 mins. Every restart after that, takes like 1-3 minutes.

God of War Ragnarok, Atomic Heart, and all those other UE games did the same thing.

yeah i expected it to be faster after first time but this is going to take like 20 minutes or longer, not even half way yet

CPU and RAM upgrade are pretty much the only way. Shader compilation is mostly done by your CPU and then is passed off to your GPU. Every time I boot the game up it takes at most 30-45 seconds to compile on an i9-13900K with 64.0 GB DDR5 6000 MHz. Not flaunting my setup just telling you what I have experienced after starting the game 4 times to have a metric.

No idea why the shader chache isn't saved and tapped into after the first compile unless you changed graphic settings.

Normally not a fan of the little launcher things many games have but, due to the compiling shaders every time and how many settings require a complete restart, I'd love an option to edit the game settings without having to wait for the compiling every - damn - time.

i found the shader cache size adjustment in nvidia control panel in global settings, testing...

after trying default, 10 gb, 100gb, and unlimited, no change in time to compile.
