The AI is far superior and there are a lot of quality of life improvements that the current game lacks (useful hot keys for medical items, and the consolidated task system are great examples).
GAMMA obviously looks much worse, the maps are a lot smaller and there will always be an element of jankiness to it.
Hopefully there will be a GAMMA 2 in a year or so to give the best of both worlds.
If you want polish and balance limited by the engine go for GAMMA.
Or even better do GAMMA then Stalker 2.
A couple more patches will do wonders for Stalker 2.
I second this. You are comparing a 17 year game with extremely good mods vs a 2024 game that just released. Give STALKER 2 17 years, let's compare them then.
And you have to do 4x as many people's work across 17 years to get it running properly
