To be honest GAMMA, but only gunplay and ai wise, further i hate the micromanagement in it and al the junk clutter (weapon parts and such)

Lmao, I honestly feel sorry for people like you. You are so pessimistic you can't even enjoy something if it's good. I did two Gamma playthroughs in the recent years and have absolutely no issues with this stalker release. The AI is very similar to what was in gamma except the AI doesn't randomly freeze in place in the open in this game lmao. This is a day one release from a company that was in the midst of a war using a completely new engine and all people like you can do is spew your BS. Thank God I can still enjoy good games and not let my pessimism take over my entire being.

Edit: Before you guys start saying "yOu dOnT eVeN oWn tHe gAmE" I had a brain and got it for $40 cheaper on game pass.

The progression in GAMMA is much better, although perhaps a bit too random with how the loot based upgrade system works (you need to find specific tools to upgrade gear). You can plan and work towards your upgrades far more effectively than you can in STALKER 2. For example, I spent most of my money upgrading my armour only to find a better suit almost immediately afterwards/. You are supposed to be able to remove upgrades, but the tech in rookie village at least doesn't seem to be able to do it so I wasted a lot of money on nothing.

The AI is far superior and there are a lot of quality of life improvements that the current game lacks (useful hot keys for medical items, and the consolidated task system are great examples).

GAMMA obviously looks much worse, the maps are a lot smaller and there will always be an element of jankiness to it.

Hopefully there will be a GAMMA 2 in a year or so to give the best of both worlds.

If looks, story and the promise of future improvements is what you want go for the Stalker 2.
If you want polish and balance limited by the engine go for GAMMA.
Or even better do GAMMA then Stalker 2.
A couple more patches will do wonders for Stalker 2.

i would say stalker IWP is more closer that what a true stalker experience is, gamma and anomaly have way too much inventory management its feels like a chore more than a game

Been playing on Veteran, current issues I had was Shaders but its much faster now on loading- still needs work, finally stuttering in large safezones. Thats about it really, I've been a Stalker fan since SoC. Game is fine, I wish enemies werent bullet sponges though, but my shotgun does the trick. I'm in Yantar atm. Oh and I've had a single crash, i'm playing with a 1060.

GAMMA is obviously better at this moment, but with patching this could be a more solid foundation for future mods. Updated visuals aside, lets not forget how jank the xray engine was/is with bugs that even all those years of mods couldn't fully fix and using a hacked together keybinding system to work around the limitations of the built in one that is frankly pretty awful.

Gamma is better in many ways but it was designed to refresh an old game. It's still old. No one in their right mind would go back other than for nostalgia, or they're still using the same toaster
