STALKER 2 is at least much more complex than Cod with the anomaly/armor/weapon management.
I've been playing on the hardest difficulty and tightly managing ammo and resources at the traders
wow
your opinion is trash dude please stop posting on internet
Now in most things, it would be stupid to compare Anomaly and Stalker 2, but one thing you can compare is the ai and its a-life system, and the sad truth is that right now the ai is trash in Stalker 2 and the a-life system is non existent, while a modded version in this franchise have expanded and improved the same system.
When the ai worked in the originals it was truly great and one of my favorite ai to fight against, in Stalker 2 enemies have no personality and is like playing every other open world fps games.
Something this game just fumbled hard, so it's just a lifeless and empty zone.
? There is bandages in anomaly.
Problem with Stalker 2 isn't that it was released with bugs which veterans would be unrealistic not to expect.
Problem is that it released without the corner stones of what makes Stalker, Stalker.
Ok let's say A life was an unpredicted problem due to console optimization and the spawn around the player radius.
Let's also say that faction wars should be expected later. Still we should be able to join a faction and have more faction quests and have a working reputation system in which our actions would affect faction resections towards us.
Releasing without NVG is pure laziness and total disrespect towards the veterans that supported this all the way. Is like Doom without super shotgun.
So I can understand many likewise threads that pinpoint these things and say that Anomaly or even Gamma feels better.
secondly, I do agree that there has been a shift, but only in the engine. However, this has basically made A-life impossible to work, which is why they've had to call it A-life 2.0 (which is basically 50 yard spawn-♥♥♥♥-fest with NOTHING happening anywhere else in the map)
I do have to pick an issue with you though on your comparison between an x-ray engine modded stand alone vs Unreal 5 with AAA elements
(granted, I agree with you on the streamlining, it's pretty stripped out, what with absolutely NO keybindings? Perhaps mods might fix a few things in time, then we might be able to make comparisons).
"It can totally appear daunting but it's actually very simple. It's just that guns are gated behind the toolkits progress which enforces the player to do tasks and venture in harder maps to get better tools and to repair the gear he finds. Without such a system, you'll end up with the base Anomaly progression where you farm the easiest and least dangerous maps for 20h and buy an exo to finally start the story.... without any fear of anything because you are already a walking tank backed up with 800 high caliber rounds killing anything in 2 shots." There might be a better way to fix vanilla-derived absurd progression, but after a bit of thinking I honestly have no idea how one would go about doing that. It's a very complicated instance of game-balancing. You just gotta tweak the modpack a bit, streamline it to your liking where necessary (you can even enable guns being sold again), and enjoy it the way you want. After all, first "M" of "GAMMA" stands for "modular".
I just started playing Gamma and getting into it after trying a couple years back. I massively enjoy it over Stalker 2. Granted the toolkits and repair system is offputting at first.
Then let's compare mods; because guess what? GSC GameWorld doesn't make mods.
