GAMMA was made *YEARS* after CoP even, let alone SoC.
And lets not forget, GAMMA/Anomaly is NOT a Stalker release.
It is a complete, and total overhaul. Even so far as going from 32 -> 64 bit exe.
If you are disappointed, ignore Stalker 2 and let the modders have at it for a decade and then enjoy Stalker IOTA or whatever.
Nah just people who prefer graphics over gameplay, i doubt they will admit to being such type of people, pity them for they know not what they do.
brother im almost 4 hours game time today and im loving every second. highly recommend hud off and just rely on PDA. make sure drivers are up to date and ive heard high sharpness looks crazy bad with the new radiation system.
Modders are a different beast than game devs. They can work unlimited hours, completely out of passion, for years with zero returns. Stalker Anomaly has been out for years and re-uses 100% of the assets from the base game. No ♥♥♥♥ it's going to be one hell of an impressive package.
GAMMA is a fine-tuned mod by a modder who really really loves crafting and modding. It's insanely bloated with garbage you don't need, and makes a game that has become overly simple for stalker veterans much more complex to add more replay value. It's not at ALL made to be a base experience, and any new players who has never played STALKER will be completely stuck in GAMMA within the first few hours. There's almost no guidance and no real way to figure out how to craft, repair and fix ♥♥♥♥.
So, no ♥♥♥♥ Stalker 2 (Just like Soc,CS and CoP before it) is much more simplified and streamlined. It's made to appeal to STALKER fans, not GAMMA or ANOMALY fans.
Sounds like a user problem, no handholding is the reason why i play it.
Also, I can't turn off the Christmas tree icons on my compass—it just doesn’t work. I can disable the entire compass, but not specific elements. It's still early in the game, but I'm enjoying it regardless. Sorry for my English!
I think OP's point is that its made for the mass market as opposed to "hardcore" stalker fans, anomaly etc was just mentioned to reinforce this point.
Given the amount of resources you get so quickly i would be inclined to agree, it plays more like a shooter than a survival horror, and its not like this is that surprising, you just can't make big budget games like this without aiming for the largest audience possible.
Or they play it with the Old World Addon, which isn't Anomaly anymore since it revert back all of the changes to be very similar to a vanilla freeplay gamemode.
If you replay the 3 main games, difficulty is present, but the new one is definitely harder (except the end of SoC at the npp...).
Also, the old games are very much... a shooter. And not a Tarkov ultra realistic one, it's Counter Strike with bullet drop. Especially Clear Sky. Ressources management was always superficial.
EXcept OP mentions Gamma, not Anomaly. Anomaly is much closer to base games. Gamma is like an entirely game where you are constantly carrying crafting and dismantling things for small incremental gain in power.
