My ONLY gripe with the game.
The mutants are extremely bullet spongy this time around. I expected that the way difficulty was handled would be similar to the older games. but like I can dump 5 double barrel shots into a bloodsucker and they just do not die. Same goes for Boars and Flesh like I am really confused by this decision. Didn't Flesh used to die in like one or two buckshot hits or am I crazy?

The old "buff" to your damage from high difficulty was removed, with it we have bulletsponge mutants. They have crapton of health.

It never made sense and just made the game easier.

This isn't better, it just makes the difficulty artificial.

So the mutants themselves make sense... its nonsensical by design, we talking fun and expectation here.

That first Flesh in the tutorial section actually killed me.

Too used to them fleeing from gunfire or dropping to a few shots, bloody thing lept at me.

Dread to think what the REAL mutants are going to take this time round.

Use the right kind of ammo. FMJ is meant for soft fleshy targets.

Even with FMJ in the older games Flesh would drop in one or two hits. Another thing I noticed is that they don't flee anymore neither do dogs.
Hell even the A-Life in general seems to be a bit wonky rn, tho I am sure it'll get patched soon since this is day 1 after all.

Wait isn't full metal jacket armor penetrating ammo irl?

With normal crap rounds yes, but with the right ammo no, this concept came from the anomaly/ gamma mods. Also mutants have weak spots, for example the Bloodsucker, you can down it quick while it's invisible with normal rounds.

Hmm, I hope this changes, or becomes an option thing.
I have yet to play because of my stupid job

sounds like the bloodsuckers guard is down while invisible. somewhat makes sense but also a little annoying
