Dont take this as me trashing on this game. I LOVE this game... this is an absolute game breaking bug though. It takes all the immersion away and in turn my will to continue playing, though I will push through but I wont lie and say this doesn't exist. Whether A life 2 really is in here or not, it doesnt matter at this point because this problem overshadows it and becomes the focal point of your experience.
It's really sad, i hope it can be fixed. This combined with the broken sneaking just make for a disappointing experience.
If I understand what you're saying correctly there's no doubt that's sad, and **** Russia, but that still doesn't entitle a videogame developer to fraudulently advertise a product. It's one thing the game has technical issues, but it's another thing entirely to be missing a major foundational feature that is 100% expected and has been endlessly advertised. The sim elements of the world's inhabitants were what made the series what it is, and currently it seems to just seems to be what Fallout 76 was at launch but with dumb NPCs.
It's very obvious there are no sim elements working in this game, and the idea they aren't here at all is not unlikely. The AI is N64 shooter levels of barebones at times and they clearly just know where you are at all times, it destroys the immersion and makes the game markedly less fun to engage with. The fact they removed any mention of the A-Life system right before the game launched says everything that needs to be said, it's not here and probably won't ever be via an official update.
They want $110 for the complete edition of this. That's AAA pricing through and through. If the game's development was as troubled as it seems they maybe should have been more honest and forward about what was going on and released the game "as-is" for like $30-$40 and then open the game engine up for modders to get busy. Instead they tried to pull the wool over everyones eyes so you'd spend a bunch of money on a big dead world full of annoying enemies that just spawn around you without rhyme or reason. It's not cool.
Think of like a graphics option and keybinding.ini, yes you choose all that stuff in game, but it still needs to be stored in a file on your PC so the game knows what you selected, same goes for engines. They store values that get chosen within the systems the devs created. I've yet to see anything related to the deep simulation they advertised such as faction territorial wars, migrating monsters, etc, both in game, and it's not mentioned in any .cfg. As it currently stands, I don't think it exists. And btw, here is that ALifeDirectorScenarioPrototype.cfg in action.

Confirms everything's we've been saying. Alive 2.0 is a rebranded radial spawner ans the things not working are with the system shown in the video which is why they refuse to go into detail about what is broken. The thing that made stalker stalker does not exist in stalker 2.
All the unique features of A-life have been removed. Stalker has been watered down and turned into another generic pos for consoles and newbies.
the enemy spawn system alerts you 100% of the time... with a red colored flash on the compass. ENEMY nearby. really close. its disgusting... when they spawn behind you magically and they've already agro'd on you OUT OF THIN AIR. not a stalker game.
Was always my fear and likely outcome. Not really many from. OG team and UE5 rather than upgraded xray
You know you can go into the options menu and turn off the ui elements like the compass and etc but that may be hard for you to figure out, probably. so there's how you do it.
but in anaomly
It's super gimmicky yeah. I would rather preffer the original mutant AI that would just run circles around the rock you were standing on or have a chance of simply ditching you and run someplace else. It felt far more realistic and genuine then.
It feels wrong to call the NPCs in this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AI in the first place. Witchfire Enemies are 20 times smarter, if not more.
