Whats with all the British people?
I have just finished the prologue and entered the first town and im a little off-put by all the British accents? I understand there are Westerners and such in the Zone, especially by this point in the timeline it makes sense to encounter a few different types of accents but the fact that 80% of NPCs thus far do not have a Slavic accent of any sort is kind of strange and kills the atmosphere a bit. The Metro series managed just fine with this, seems like an odd choice on GSC's part. Obviously playing the game in its native language will always be superior but English is my primary language and i miss the charm of the first 3 Stalker games with their Slavic accented English.

I play with Russian voice and English subtitles for the better immersion.

Ukrainian voices and English subs is the way to play Stalker games IMO.

Because in the future only the English language exists. I am assuming the game takes place in either a future universe or in an alternative timeline...but in this timeline only people speak English. Its a little Anglocentric but most dystopias are so who am I to judge?

this was my plan, as i think the devs are ukranian right? seems so off with the british accents even though im british. Much like the TV series war and peace and chernobyl, using british actors it just seemed off, although i still loved both series

I understand the native language is the best way to play the game as I said above....yet the English voice actors had a certain charm in the original trilogy with their hilarious accents and mannerisms. I just wish they had Slavic accents in this one instead of the awkwardly placed British and even Irish accents ive been hearing. Its a shame because I actually really enjoy the English voice actor for Skif (He reminds me almost of a Male V from Cyberpunk) but everyone elses voices seem to be lacking for the most part or just out of place.

I'm playing Ukrainian language with English subs too. Would imagine British voice acting is because it's easier to grab Brits for studio work right now.

slavic accents in english VO is just fake.
if they did it with real slavic actors it would just sound terrible and you would not like it.

English isn't the issue, it;s the accents, in the first three games and the Metro games the characters in the English versions speak in English but with Ukrainian and Russian accents. In this there's a lot of British and American accents.

According to the devs, they had to re-record a lot of the voices when they fled Ukraine to the Czech Republic. Wonder if that is why there are more brits rather than English speaking Ukrainians, since many who were doing the voices originally stayed in Ukraine.
