Bloodsuckers...
I was helping out Squint by looking for an artefact in a cave when I got attacked by a bloodsucker. Now these things used to be pretty scary in Stalker 1 because of their invisibility, speed and damage, but if you got them in your sights they were toast in a couple of bursts.

These new ones however... 3 grenades, 2 buckshot, 31 smg rounds and 8 pistol rounds... barely made it out alive. And this was after a good 20 or so attempts on normal difficulty.

Why are the mutants in Stalker 2 built like tanks? These bloodsuckers are not fun when you have to mag dump 3 of your weapons into their face while cycling healing and trying to find terrain to exploit ai bugs.

Playing on hardest difficulty here.

They can also 1 shot you from full health. I wanted challenge, but it feels a little too far on the unfair side (Mind you, the zone isn't fair). I thought them being bullet sponges was due to playing on Veteran, but if you're on normal... Oof.

I like how you mentioned the bloodsucker in the cave and not the one when you just did the artifact tutorial mission outside the above ground bunker. Sucker killed me 5 times before I managed to kill it with 5 magazines spread over 3 weapons.

I was playing on stalker difficulty but purely due to the amount of bloodsuckers you run into early game, I'm going to be turning to lowest difficulty. I do not feel like emptying all my magazines into it, using 5 healing packs and then still not be able to kill it.

Shotgun is the way to go against mutants.

Mutants in general seem way to tanky. Btw easy way to kill that first bloodsucker, hop up on the boxes by the ladder to get on top of the bunker, if you stand pretty much in the center on the tallest one, the bloodsucker cannot hit you, and you can shoot it when it gets close to try.

I don't mind how hard they hit, but they are far to tanky.

yeah...that second sucker nearly got me...
Constantly healing, and reloading my shotgun.
I had to use 14 buckshots, and a lot of other bullets.
Soo I wanted to lookup if they have armor if invisible, or something xD

FML these things are OP, They are way to tanky, there was skill in killing them before, but getting one shot killed after mag dumping is insane. Playing on veteran, bit of a game breaker, there is no way you these things could survive 8 buck shots at point blank.

Yeah that thing ate so much of my ammo i reloaded and just sprinted past it to grab the anomaly.

The first one seemed stupidly bullet spongey to me on normal difficulty.
I never got around to playing Stalker 1 and I don't know how well this is working out for me.

I think they are bit spongy for veteran diffuculty

Playing on Veteran.
I get the feeling that Bloodsuckers have some sort of armor value added: had a bit of a trouble killing 'em with normal ammunition, but AP rounds took one down pretty quick.

In OG games uncloaked suckers were easy to kill with a headshot, while the ones that aware of you and cloaked would suck up quite a bit of ammo, so maybe it's something similar?

14 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ buckshot shells are little too much in my opinion

You're thinking of Clear Sky. In that game bloodsuckers were invincible as well as invisible, so you had to wait to fire until they uncloaked.

The monsters are definitely overtuned but there's so much jank it's hard to tell sometimes if a hit even registered or if it's a genuine bullet sponge.

bloodsuckers are awful now. they were always tough even when you knew how to handle them. if i see one now, i wont bother. im just going to waste all my ammo trying to kill it while i get stunlocked by their jump. they really didnt need to be as tanky as they are, especially if there is more than one.
