FPS Drop In Conversations
When I talk to someone it drops to 8 fps and makes it really hard to do anything.

i have this same problem. my game runs fine on max settings, but whenever i'm near an NPC or talking to them my FPS drops to like 1-4 FPS.

saving and reloading fixes it temporarily for me

sometimes at least...

very frustrating.

Did you guys find a solution for this? I've got the same issue and I can't figure out the issue. Surely not the system as I'm running rtx 3080, ryzen 7 5900x, 64gb ram ... should be fine.

Prob. the lip syncing is very well optimized.

Same problem. Random FPS drops in hubs where there are a lot of NPCs.

Same Problem, seems like FrameGen is not working in this Scenes.

the game will hiccup when i go into town areas then will smooth out but soon as i get into a convo with someone inside a building i'm rocking 10 to 15 fps

It seems to happen after you've been playing a while. GPU usage goes to 100% and the frames drop to about 3-5. You basically have to restart the game.

For me, reverting GPU drivers to September version helps! in polessie, i have HUUGE FPS drops to 10, and it would for a minute or so, then unlag, and about 1-2 minutes process repeated.

So, revert you GPU drivers and happy hunting!

P.S. That's absolute ASS, that special drivers for Stalker 2 release doen't work properly with stalker. But it is what it is

To confirm,

you do not have the fps drops at all in the old driver?

It seems to be in high consentration of NPCs. I have the same issue. In some quests that require me to raid a camp or base I drop to 2fps then crash. A temp fix is pause open save game and wait a couple seconds. Should let the GPU chill out and resume playing.

What fixed it for me was turning 'Hair' to medium. Yes the hair plays a big part in performance.

Allso, restart the game just for safe measure!

I temporarily solve the problem with FPS. I go to the settings, select graphics, then just save the settings without any changes and this temporarily helps. In battle, when it is impossible to save, it will definitely help. RTX 4070 7 13700k 32 RAM

Frame drops in settlements are cause of all the fire sources - it was the same in og SoC.
Drops in cutscenes are due to framegen turning off. And they are capped
