Stalker 2 Not showing in the Nvidia App despite having latest 'game ready' drivers?
Is this happening to anyone else? I thought this was supposed to bring 'Day 1' optimisations. I have manually added Stalker 2 to the Nvidia App and it says, ''this game is not supported''? Wtf?

Driver optimizations are different from "optimized settings" if that is what you're looking for. Nvidia has to add the game to the "optimize game" list as far as I'm aware. That's why it doesn't show up at the moment but I'm sure it will at some point

Thank you, Stinger, would have thought they would do both with the release of the game but I am sure they had their reasons. Good to know its not my app playing up, cheers

I also am experiencing this issue as well. Very frustrating. I upgraded the Nvidia App then went to download the game, downloaded it an went to open the Nvidia app for it to be optimized but Nvidia couldnt recognize the game when I scanned for it. Tried to Manually add the game folder an still no luck. Apparently a lot of people are going through this same issue. Tried opening the game to see if I can tweak settings for gameplay until Nvidia gets it fixed but the game would just read error an crash right after opening...

Same with me, tried to add *.exe, but have no luck. Started/restarted the game doesn't affects on NVIDIA App

Have an award. I would have spent ages looking for this.

It is wierd, the game was showing for me in the nvidia app before i upgraded the driver and doesn't show anymore since then...
PimblyCharles Nov 21, 2024 @ 1:08pm
I had issues w the latest driver. Had to reinstall it.

Same here. Something is screwed up since Stalker2 is shown in the banner area of the Nvidia App under the title "Game Ready Drivers" but when you try to import it, it says that optimisation is not supported.

Anyone has a rough idea on when will they add Stalker 2 to the optimisation tab?

Btw if you want to boost the gameplay with already and get rid of the FPS drops, and fix your mouse, follow this collection of guides (stolen from other threads, but all of them combined worked miracles for me):

A) First is NVidia boost, without the actual invidia auto optimisation:
1. Open nvidia app
2. Go to [System] tab
3. Go to [Performance] sub-tab
4. In the middle of the window you will find "AUTOMATIC TUNING" - click it on and wait more or less 20 minutes until it finish.
5. After 20 min finished go to [Graphics].
6. Then go [Global settings]
7. Make the "RTX Dynamic Viprance : ON"
8. "Power management mode: prefer maximum performance"
9. "Shader cache size : driver deffault"
10. "Low latency mode : ON"
11. Everything else : OFF

B) Now that we're done with NVidia, let's boost the graphic optimisation more.
(Mods for the rescue!)
Go to the NexusMods>Stalker 2 and download a mod called STK2.
It's essentially a community patch that fixes some optimisation settings without any impact on how the game works.
(link: https://www.nexusmods.com/stalker2heartofchornobyl/mods/9?tab=description)
You can download it with Vortex if you use it and it will automatically get enabled, or if you prefer to do it manually:

1. Unpack the archive with the mod.
2. Go to your Stalker 2 directory
-if it's on Steam, go to Steam>steamapps>common>S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl
3. Open a folder named "Stalker 2"
4. Inside open a folder named "Binaries"
5. Then a folder named "Paks"
6. Finally a folder named "~mods"
7. IMPORTANT: If you don't have ~mods in here, create a folder and name it "~mods"
8. Put the unpacked .pak file inside of ~mods.
9. Done

Full path to the mods folder :
"C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl\Stalker2\Content\Paks\~mods"

(Kinda obvious, if your Steam folder is on another drive than C, go there instead of C. If you have Steam not in Program Files, go where Steam is...)

C) Also, there's mouse acceleration 'permanently' on, so if you're wondering wy your mouse works weird:

1. Open search bar
2. Type in %appdata%.
3. It will open "appdata/roaming".
4. Go back one layer and open the folder "local"
5. Find "Stalker2" folder
6. Inside it open a folder "Saved"
7. Open a folder "Config"
8. Open a folder "Windows"
9. Finally a file named "Input.ini", which will be empty.
10. Into "input.ini" paste these lines:

[/script/engine.inputsettings]

bEnableMouseSmoothing=False

bViewAccelerationEnabled=False

11. Save the file and now your mouse acceleration is off.

Full path for the file:Path:
"C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Stalker2\Saved\Config\Windows\Input.ini"
(note that instead of "...\user\..." there might be your user name.

These three things have single handedly fixed my game into a perfect state of constant 120fps outside of hubs and 90fps in crowded areas, with every single graphic option set on Extreme, excluding motion blur which i've turned down to 0% as i hate that thing.
I do play on RTX 4070 tho, so it's kinda obvious your graphics options will need to get tweaked to fit your specs. Still, these three steps are a Miracle Machine.

Now that i think of it, i'll just pin this comment as a separate thread.

Did this stop crashes for you? That's my main issue right now I can get past all the performance bugs...

Uh... dunno. Didn't have a single crash yet, neither prior to all of these nor now. BUT the STK2 Mod's description does state that it helps with some crashes, mainly related to memory issues tho. I'm always lucky when it comes to this topic. Witch CP2077 i've played it since day 1 on release and have encountered only one (1!!!) bug through the entire game, and it was a silly thing of sometimes T-posing while riding a motorcycle. That was it.
Same goes here, only issues i've had were that i can't optimize the game with NVidia app yet and since my game automatically set every single setting to Extreme, and combined with the fact that it runs pretty well but sometimes have stutters i've only wanted help with that.

But I'm pretty sure i saw more mods that fix stuff on Nexus already, so definitely go check it out. Nexus is always pretty fast with mod-fixes.
