weird graphics
playing on rx7700xt, all details set to epic with no problems with fps at all.
yet it looks kinda weird. like oversharpened. (no upscaling or sharpening enabled)

any clue how to fix it?

It's because you have no Anti Aliasing on at all. I know you said you don't use any upscaling but the UE5 engine unfortunately heavily relies on it to get rid of the artifacting and jaggies. TAA is recommended (unfortunately looks blurry because TAA and UE5 is a mess) or use FSR on quality at 1440p for extra frames. TAA and FSR Quality are often indistinguishable from each other because FSR uses TAA as a baseline.

Unfortunately there's no other way. You will find other UE5 games have the exact same issue and often have TAA enabled by default with no option to turn it off.

FSR can be set to "Native AA" mode (keeps the rendering res at 100%). This fixed it for me, playing on a 6800xt.

Tried even All upscalling methods.

No upscale terrible oversharp
Upscale blurry like hell.

No go for me sorry.

I'm on mobile or I'd grab the screenshots from my pc. I was up until 4am trying to fix this ♥♥♥♥. Had to refund on steam because of the 2 hour limit so went over to Gamepass to try and figure it out.

There is absolutely nothing that worked. When upscaling is off everything looks crunched pixelated and like an old CRT TV. There's someone in the GAMMA discord having the exact same issue and they can't figure it out either.

At first I thought it was something to do with my health since I was at half but no. I tried healing, eating, drinking, not moving a muscle so stamina was full and the blur just wouldn't stop. I did various edits to ini files to make sure motion blur and depth of field were off. Tried sharpness adjustments, ironically 100% sharpness with upscaling on manages to drown out some of the blur but it still looks like ass.

I can handle some jank performance, my hardware does a lot of the heavy lifting but the game looking the way it does just makes me want to projectile vomit everywhere. For now I've given up because I'm tired and frankly annoyed. But I'll leave this comment in case someone figures it out.

Finally on my pc, here's the comparison https://imgur.com/a/stalker-with-without-upscaling-RLIonIR

it was set to 0% on screenshot.

I'm try that out too for my too sharp game at 22%, but I also got texture flickering and not sure if that's somehow related...

Sharpness can help with upscaling enabled to drown out the blur. It won't remove it but it does help a little. When you don't use upscaling it won't make a difference.

Looked exactly like mine. For me I turned on upscaling, which made the game blurry, and then added sharpening, and it looks a lot better. Like A LOT better.

I've been jumping around threads and discord, including the GAMMA discord. You can also try to manually update the games DLSS to the latest version. As for AMD cards, idk if an option like that exists. Maybe modded FSR ? It might be better implemented with it being a newer version.

Having the same exact issue , dlss on quality removed all the pixelation but just made the game blurry instead

It is alot more tolerable tho

See after it gets blurry, THEN you turn up the sharpness!

sorry my tollerance for this is near zero. I already wasted 3 hours in game plus almost hour downloading. Game should look good by default without harry potter ♥♥♥♥ with settings. Alredy refunded :)

Only struggle here is, Eye Adaptation is way too aggressive, wish to be able turn it off.

-Add option to turn of eye adjustment in advanced settings, would be good.

To clarify the Anti-aliasing setting is misleading, it uses the chosen up-scaling method for the anti-aliasing. As long as you choose an up-scaling quality that keeps the resolution scale at 100% (commonly "Native AA") it will apply it as anti-aliasing without up-scaling the image, TAA (Temporal Anti-Aliasing) is also an option here if you are having problems with DLSS, FSR, and XeSS.
