1070 GPU: how well will it run?
Is it playable on at least 1080p without it looking like a Soviet potato?

No way. I got the same card. I get 45-55 FPS in the area after the tutorial. Low settings. 1080p. No frame generation. Please post your specs. Here's mine:

Intel Core i7-8086K Limited Edition 4.0/5.0GHz
Ballistix Sport LT 16GB DDR4
ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB Turbo Edition
Fury Renegade PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD 1TB 7300MBps/6000MBps
Intel Core i9 @ 3.60GHz
32.0GB DDR4 <--- This seems to be a problem for a lot of people on 16GB, this game eats more ram than it says on the tin apparently
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti (MSI)
Samsung SSD 860 EVO 4TB

Thanks. Suppose I'll consider getting more RAM. That seems the decisive factor. My current rig has been working fine for nearly 6 years, but this game is the dealbreaker.

Cool, I hope it works for you. I do have to wonder if I have some kind of prototype card sometimes because it definitely has surprised me with how well it can keep up with some of these newer games.

Same, test this on my old PC, i76700k 1080ti 16gb .......... on all HIGH stable 60, in town down to 50 nothing under, FSR3 is enabled, on 1440p TAA 100% resolution.

+ its funny as hell when i read that some idiots 4090 is crashing and ♥♥♥♥.....a whole PC worth 1/4th today of his GPU alone...running better, must hit gamer ego hard.

That's like saying the PS2 is a more potent console than the PS4 because the PS4 crashes more often. The tradeoff for more powerful hardware is that it also becomes more complex and the tradeoff for hardware being more complex is that it also becomes less stable. But more stable hardware does not mean that it runs things better, just that it's less prone to crashing.

Your 1080 cannot run the game on the highest settings in 4K and with a framerate of 120+FPS. A 4090 can. If that isn't important to you, then the 1080 is better FOR YOU, and it's important to make that distinction. The 1080 does not run games better than the 4090, it's just a better fit for your gaming expectations and requirements.

Really? i wonder what a pissed off 5k PC gamer would say, if he knew that a 500$ PC can run like i described, in 2024 A 2024 game. Besides that, why even use DLSS or FSR3 with 4090 if its soooooo f god mode, until it crashes on you, with 160fps on the meter.

Unless you're fresh off the boat, you should know that newly released games generally need a new hardware driver to run properly on the newest equipment. It has always been this way.

And yet there i was, updating the latest SOFTWARE and the game ran smooth 60.....on what, 10yo hardware?. when will you realize that consoles are the focus? a small little thing with everything integrated like a phone, and here thy are running stutter fest with bricks larger the those of a house, i wonder how their electricity bill is.

+ 4090 aint even new anymore.... if it aint fixed by now, its broken at the core. (1080ti giggling in the corner*)

Yeah, you're fresh off the boat.

Im the captain of the boat, and here is a believer of santa claus still trying to convince me that santa is real.

There is NO PC master race, you are not winning by buying 4k GPUs. Consoles are the priority, tech always went SMALLER not larger, why do you think AI frame generation is in the gaming world? to make something as small and compact efficient and powerful.

Console plebs? more like PC plebs, playing downgraded games cause you aint the main character, people on the console are.

+same goes for old PCs today, tanks to AI. If you still haven't noticed .....but "brute force" FPS is dying.

You can pre order the 5090 already.

1660S, 50-70fps in low/medium settings,

30 years of pc experience over better hardware apparently.

It took quite a bit of tweaking with the settings, but it should run well on your gpu provided you put the effort into it.

I do have quite a few mods, more than 15 right now.
