STALKER 2 Review is up IT'S BAD
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRCLRAJkqjg

Some takeaways from video:
- not recommended for casual PC's
- extremely buggy mess
- requires high end hardware 4090 + DLSS + Frame Gen to reach 60 fps with drops in town
- glitches and annoying pop ups
- terrible AI
- T-Poses
- underwhelming and boring story
and many more

I love how every single one of your replies are basically one sentence long with zero proof. Once more a survivor bias abuser comes in to tell us there's nothing wrong with the game.

Would you like me to do a screen recording? I happily will.

Well?

Nice counter. You just forgot to bring your facts.

The review provides example of almost everything the reviewer talks about. What's the misinformation?

I brought mine, and was instantly called a liar by multiple people. There are no winners here.

You forgot to mention that he only ran it in 4k. Which everyone is not dumb enough to do.

patches and updates will fix/improve the game later, not to mention mod support

just make sure to update your post later when (not if) you change your mind

Ah yes, because the burden of proof lies on him for some reason. Despite the fact he's literally telling of HIS experience so far. God forbid.

Thank you. I also offered to provide proof, which was conspicuously ignored. Almost as if people have already made their minds up and don't want to be proven incorrect.

I guess it's time to finish Atomic Heart while I wait for this game to get fixed and by then even expect a nice little discount. From the sounds of it, $50 for the ultimate edition sounds fair to me.

I guess the my personal release date for this game will be this time, but in 2025.

Oh well, I've waited longer for some games...

If you're interested in it, my advice would be to just try it out and see - I mean why not? You can try it through Game Pass, or if you don't have that, just keep it to within the refund window so you can get your money back if it's not right for you. So far it's awesome for me.

I personally trust ACG the most.

I didn't even check the Game Pass, might go this route.

As for the refund thing, I don't like abusing Steam's refund policy. I am always grateful that they have refunded me back when I needed it and in most cases those were games that I didn't expect I would refund.

I'll try it on Game Pass, thanks for the idea.

Skill Up is pretty calm and thorough. He never seems like he's trying to dunk on a game for clicks or be some kind of outrage merchant. Most importantly, I think, is that he records loads of his gameplay so that he can provide examples of what he's talking about in his reviews as he's talking about them. This keeps him honest and you aren't just getting his opinion on a game, you can actually see it for yourself, which helps you make up your own mind.

To give you a TLDW about "some" of the issues:
  • Performance is terrible, even with a 4090 using DLSS Performance.
  • Awful texture pop-in and warping.
  • Lighting is downright broken more often than not.
  • Glitchy reflections.
  • Light sources often don't work correctly (many areas that are clearly supposed to be properly lit are just black as if there's no light on).
  • NPCs and objects often glitch and just float in mid-air (T-poses).
  • UI elements flicker in and out for no apparent reason.
  • NPCs will regularly stand on top of eachother during cutscenes.
  • Weapon audio cuts out regularly and just straight up doesn't make any sound.
  • Positional audio is completely borked and is completely inaccurate.
  • The enemy AI is bad.
  • When you complete an objective, it oftentimes won't update in the UI so you are unable to see that it's actually been completed.
  • Map markers are regularly inaccurate (such as where stashes are, etc..), leading you to completely inaccurate locations.
  • Stealth doesn't work at all; enemies can see you through walls.

This is yet again a classic Stalker release like we've seen three times before; downright broken and full of performance issues, bugs, and stuttering.

I'm grabbing this game in two or three years down the line during a sale when all the patches, DLC, and potentially unofficial patches have been released.

Just played for a short while. While I can't speak to all of these just yet, I can tell you that most of them are complete BS.

  • Performance is terrible, even with a 4090 using DLSS Performance.
I'm on a 4090 and didn't go below 125 FPS, with everything on epic settings.

  • Awful texture pop-in and warping.
Not a single pop-in or warp yet.

  • Lighting is downright broken more often than not.
    Seems fine to me.

  • Glitchy reflections.
They're all perfectly fine so far.

  • Light sources often don't work correctly (many areas that are clearly supposed to be properly lit are just black as if there's no light on).
What I've seen so far is fine; could be worse later but as of right now, it's fine

  • NPCs and objects often glitch and just float in mid-air (T-poses).
Haven't encountered enough NPCs to comment on this one, but no objects have glitched and/or floated yet.

  • UI elements flicker in and out for no apparent reason.
    Not even once.

  • NPCs will regularly stand on top of eachother during cutscenes.
Again, can't speak to this one yet

  • Weapon audio cuts out regularly and just straight up doesn't make any sound.
    Perfectly fine so far.

  • Positional audio is completely borked and is completely inaccurate.
    Complete false, it's perfectly fine.

  • The enemy AI is bad.
    TBD

  • When you complete an objective, it oftentimes won't update in the UI so you are unable to see that it's actually been completed.
So far, not true at all.

  • Map markers are regularly inaccurate (such as where stashes are, etc..), leading you to completely inaccurate locations.
Sounding like a broken record here. So far, not a single issue with this.

  • Stealth doesn't work at all; enemies can see you through walls.
    TBD.

Take it for what it's worth.

Edit: to be fair on point #1, I also have a 14900KS and 96gb of RAM, so that's probably a factor as well. Just being transparent.

125 fps for a 4090 1080p is still quite awful for a single player game tho.
