is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 actually BANNED in Russia? / это S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 вообще ЗАПРЕЩЕНЫ в России?
Yes, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has faced significant barriers in Russia. The Ukrainian developer, GSC Game World, refuses to distribute the game officially in Russia and has removed Russian voice acting, though Russian subtitles remain available. Additionally, the studio has been openly supportive of Ukraine, including donating to military-related charities. This has led to Russian authorities warning that acquiring the game, even unofficially, could result in serious legal consequences, such as treason charges under the current political climate.

Unauthorized versions of the game are also unlikely to be released by Russian repackers, who fear legal repercussions. As a result, Russian players face limited access to the game, making it effectively banned from the region.

Many gamers have no control over their country’s policies or geopolitical actions, yet they bear the consequences of these decisions. This creates cultural isolation, cutting them off from a global gaming experience, while also limiting opportunities for cross-cultural understanding through art. This intersection of politics and entertainment leaves ordinary gamers caught in an unfair and challenging position.

The UK is also quite a bad place to live, unapproved speaking is already illegal and the police are sent to houses to "check your thinking" because literal thought crimes are a thing here and you get charged with "Crime: Non Crime hate incidents" literal doublespeak the government doesn't see the irony in.

Also despite the UK being extreme anti-gun, they are actually the 2nd biggest arms dealer in the world, which is why they love every war they can start.

As a subject of these warmongering tyrants who rule the UK and basically own me, I can only imagine how much more annoying it would be to also have the world blame me for not personally overthrowing them.

This isn't even a defence of "Russia" all governments these days are completely unfit for purpose, none of them are doing a positive thing for anyone, they are all just some form of criminal oligarchy milking their positions at the cost of literally the whole world.

You're just far too happy to condemn any random russian people as if they are to personally blame for the actions of the government.

As someone who lives in the UK 90% of that is utter tosh. Police do not come round to your house to "check your thinking"
Wow, i'm glad you were here to say it's not happening.
Guess that's all that's needed to fix it, for you to deny it

I could send you links to videos of police literally saying they were sent out to "check your thinking"
There are also pictures of the crime reports where people are booked under "Crime - Non crime"

If you also live in the UK, I'm guessing you already know about all these things, so let's just skip to you telling me why the evidence of it happening doesn't actually count as evidence, you can then tell me what it really means.
Honest question, whats the difference between ukranian and russian language's?

Honest question, whats the difference between ukranian and russian language's?

considering ONLY pure mechanical communication skills
for Ukrainians: "not much"
for russians: "I don't get what they say, say in russian"

Yes it creates cultural isolation and places people in a difficult position - that's the whole point of it. The idea is to make an obvious case to the Russian people to make changes to their own country. It's a nasty tactic, sure, but then so was the annexing of Crimea and the subsequent invasion of Ukraine, so my sincere apologies if most of us are less than bothered than to provide sympathy as a result of a banned game release.

It strikes me as odd that you are not accusing the Russian government of wrongdoing nor are you suggesting that the punishment that would be meted out by the government for owning the game as wrong - only the idea that a game made in Ukraine is not being released in Russia is what is causing a real problem. It really beggar's belief.

Enjoy the YouTube Let's Plays though.

You deserve an award. I was going to respond to the same ,but you did it for me. Thank You.

yeah but they can still face legal consenquences, quote - "Russian authorities have issued a warning regarding the potential legal repercussions of purchasing the upcoming video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, developed by Ukrainian GSC Game World."?

The only consequence there will be is probably a fee, not some jail or gulag bs ... I mean come on.

lol you get years in prison for holding up a blank sheet of paper during the war and he says just a fee for this LOL. Get researching, you have a lot to catch up with.
good. f*** RuSSia
