"Which game engine will be used? What is the version of the engine?
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is powered by the Unreal Engine 5.1 with its unique features, such as Nanite, Lumen, World Partition, and others. During the development process, we utilize innovative technologies and bespoke tools to make sure the Zone looks as realistic as possible!"
thanks you
have a good exploration in the ZONE of Stalker 2 ;)
When the game entered development UE 5.3 wasn't even a thing. And now the latest version is 5.5. And switching engine versions isn't like checking a box and recompiling the game.
SH 2 remake is UE 5.1, STALKER 2 is 5.1.1.0, Robocop Rouge City is 5.2, Black Myth Wukong is UE 5.0 etc. It's easy to see by just going to the exe's properties.

Gotta keep in mind the version that was recent when the game entered development.
Exactly. That ship has sailed. They'd basically have to rewrite the game if they wanted to do this...which while doable is just...not financially feasible without funds. Epic could try to use them as a tech demo the same way that Nvidia used Cyberpunk as a demo, that might produce the funds required but outside of that I just don't ever see this happening lol.
Okey, is upgrading UE to latest really as such big deal? i don't know i have never used UE but 5.1.1 to 5.3 or 5.4 can't be that hard 4.x to 5.x that's alot of work sure(going by what indi devs talked about moving UE to 5). ?
And may be in a 12+ months they will roll-out a next episode together with upgrade to a new engine version...
