My big fear is that I've been spoiled by Anomaly too much
Anomaly did a lot of things I love and really wanted from STALKER. I just hope this game delivers. Am I the only one who feels like this?

You're likely going to go in expecting stuff from a mod, don't. Go in expecting a different game entirely and you'll enjoy yourself more.

Mods will come to S2. I think the only fair expectation right now is to expect more STALKER in the vein of the released games by GSC. Expecting anything from a specific mod is only going to open you up for disappointment.

I've been expecting mostly just an updated system for combat and such. Nice little details too. Like how you can see your character interact with the PDA in Anomaly. I know I shouldn't expect much. But It's too the point I just don't really know what I'm expecting

I've looped around more towards "People who claim to love the classics actually hate them"

Every time I see someone scream they hate stupid dumb fallout compared to stalker, I think of all the ways they are identical to New Vegas worshippers who loathe SMGs being worthwhile in the hands of anyone but NPCs, and want you to spend more time on material grinding than an MMO.

So yeah. I'm fine with not needing tongs to start with. I'm fine with it going to be a bit before reading stalker modders lament "If only I could figure out how to make you also lose durability when reloading for even more realism!" anew, which I wish was hyperbole.

Man I loved the game when I played. Not modded. Surprisingly not many bugs, if any I remember. Think I crashed once. It weirdly reminded me of Fallout 3 when I first started playing it, I couldn't help but explore. Though I had played other games at that point like Metro, so I took it more slowly

Eh, it's not bad to visit to the base game once in a while.
Really make you appreciate all the improvement the modders does.

And who know, maybe this game "vanilla" will be actually good.

Most people: Wishing for mega mods after vanilla.

My oddly specific gamer brain: "I have the fix mod for scopes (Was it NATO or susat?) being ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to minimum zoom in vanilla CoP on my SSD, transported across multiple desktops, somewhere"

Yeah I love the IL-86 for all the right, and wrong (on Vanilla's part) reasons. I am going to be the only guy in the world sad if that chunky boy is not in stalker 2

Ew, stay away from me and my children.

Well, sometime they are just that ONE thing really you really want to mod out to enjoy the base game, maybe ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the scopes is that thing for you lol.

Good thing is these smaller mod do come out pretty fast if it was jarring enough.
So you might not have to wait long if scopes is also ♥♥♥♥♥♥ here.

You get a big fat no, they already stated the game will be unique for what it is.

I hope alot features and QoL inpired by Anomaly will be in vanilla as default.

Seeing how much mod support the original Stalker received over the years, I'm expecting a TON of mods for Stalker 2 as well, we just have to hope for a good base game.

Welp lol
Can't have said it better than the first comment.

You've played CoP. That was my first every Stalker game (I played them in reverse like a goof). I played all the original games and mods, my first I think was Misery... that was a good mod.

I love Anomaly, but this game I love just as much, I never or hardly make any comparisons or 'wishes' for this to be like this or that like in Anomaly or this mod, that mod.

My buddy though... he played the mods a lot, but even then, just liked to spawn in things, fights, mutants, gear. He liked the action and run, shoot, loot.
Stalker isn't that sort of game, it has the elements of an intense FPS, but the flow of the game is slower, not super slow, but running around like a Hotline Miami level isn't the flow.

Some games aren't for everyone, maybe play CoP again? I've played the original, many, many times. It's fun to go back
