You are missing out on not playing original trilogy as most of the events or why's of the game will be left without explanation.

Just buy it.

If you like iimmersive as hell games then yeah, definitly go for it. Just read up on previous games stories.
Beware though - this is tough as nails fps with a lot of survival horror elements. It can scare the ♥♥♥♥ out of you at times.
Good hunting Stalker! Its well worth it in my opinion. One of the best FPS series ever made, even with all the jank.
From what im hearing from people that review it (couple are my friends) its still STALKER in regard of vibes and atmosphere..

You could wait for reviews to come out. Unless you can spare the money or want the pre-order goodies.

None of us have played it yet, but from the looks of it they stuck real close to the previous games in terms of atmosphere and the systems with how you interact with the world, and since those two things are the core of what makes the Stalker games so great I think you'll get the same thing with this game only with 2024 graphics.

It's all about your experience in "The Zone", so don't worry about having to play the older games. You can always look up lore videos on Youtube if you're curious, or you might want to play the games yourself if you get hooked and want more after this one.

Want us to pick out what to wear for you too?

I'd wait. I've been a big fan of these games since the original back in 2007. They were tons of fun, but notoriously buggy at launch. The previous games were a blast with emergent gameplay. Random events, fights between different factions, or anomalies can just happen with or without you. You never know what's over that next hill or in that bombed out building or sewer system.

With the Steam return policy you can certainly give it a shot, but be warned with the terrible current events in the world (Ukraine) and the studio's track record, it might need some time for fixes. I'll tell you this though, when these games are on their feet and running, they are a huge amount of fun!

Buy the game and enjoy it. I have played all of the Stalker games on my older PC and never had to talk to anyone.

I wanted to play previous titles but the only mod on Nexus that improved the graphics of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, also increases difficulty and screws save files.
