Movies & Media To Watch: To Get Into The Mood

I always end up posting something like this prior to a video game I am really looking forward to, a week or so before release.

So here is a small list of movies and a TV series, that I think have a similar atmosphere or relevance to the Stalker games. If you can think of any others, please list them in the comments.

Also think the Stalker movie by Tarkovsky has lots of relevant vibe and is more influential than some make out, just gets a bit religious in parts.

IMHO Stalker is a must see of a film. Its the A L I E N of the Stalkeresque genre, more cerebal than car chases and cool explosions.

Superb film.

I have seen Children Of Men and indeed there are some atmospheric similarities there. Been a while since I watched it though. Will have to have a look at this fan-made film though, not seen this thanks.

Another film that could be added to the list is a Netflix movie called Spectral. Not without a lot of difference, but there's a lot of worrying atmosphere and constant threat going on :)

Concerning A Visitor to a Museum, the quality in that yt upload is sadly the best you can find. There's no restoration, no blueray release. But it's well worth a watch if you can stomach lower quality image. It's like bleaker, grimier Tarkovsky.
