Base UE5 experience probably won't matter TOO much since they've made massive under-the-hood changes to better fit their game. I specifically remember one of the devs mentioning in an interview that base UE5 wasn't enough to handle the fullscale map and ALife system they were using, so they had to heavily modify it to work for them.
haha me too. especially if you like your games with some extra difficulty / complexity then mods are almost mandatory. waiting is so much worth it.
thx for that information! couldn´t find any date on the modding tools release though.
Stalker Anomaly was not a game, i think your confused, the 3 original games didn't have mod support built in, the be clear, Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat were all story driven games with side quest elements, there was no crafting in any of the games, some side objectives were included, but it was a linear system with basic weapon modification.
Plus Stalker 2 is on UE5 which is difficult to currently make mods for, so you will be waiting a very long time.
since the devs have on several ocasions mentioned they are very gratefull for the modding scene for keeping the stalker series alive and are pro modding my guess would be we will see (big) mods sometime, just not in the first 1-3 years, especially since they are planing on releasing expansions if im not mistaken.
There were points where the vanilla version had no npc show during a convo, so with the mod was funny to realise someone should have been there the whole time and have parts of the story make a lot more sense.
They say a bit about modding potential and suggest extensive conversions will be possible:

I'm hopping Stalker 2 vanilla will be good on it's own.
i guess we all do. somehow have a good feeling for this title.
to be fair, bethesda games are unplayable without mods. Stalker games are not
never seen somebody say something so cringey and be so utterly wrecked by reality so quickly. This trainwreck needs mods like people need internal organs.
