Climbing?
Player movement in old games was kinda basic (walk/run, sprint, jump, crouch, crouch+).

While I fully agree that in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games there's no place for fancy parkour stuff like wallruns, slides or pole swings, nonetheless I hope that Skif will have better mobility options than the old protagonists.

I'm thinking about the basics ability to climb over low obstacles, like fences or walls, or to cling onto edges when jumping high (or when falling slightly short while attempting a long jump over a pit).

I am curious if we can swim this time (and if backpack weight is going to make a difference)

(I hope swimming won't be a thing at all, and that nothing deeper than a swamp will even be there.)

There will be rivers, the Dnipro is nearby. But hopefully there won't be an opportunity to swim)

I'm somewhat spoiled because at the moment my main game is Enlisted (since long before the Steam release). There, soldiers movement is surprisingly smooth, and you can easily climb over fences, obstacles, walls and anything within arms reach, even on the move while running or jumping. Also through any window that's wide enough. It's arguably a bit generous when it comes to fall damage (you only start getting hurt if the fall is higher than 3m or so), but otherwise it's well within plausible boundaries, and it makes navigating through maps and finding flanking routes a breeze.
