They're already in.

It's long been confirmed that hunger and fatigue will be in the game. I don't think thirst will, and I don't mind that too much. Thirst essentially fulfills the same role as hunger, just requiring different items to quench.

I'm especially glad that both player needs will have drastic effects (debuffs) on the player if neglected. After hunger was a complete afterthought in Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat, it seems it'll finally be an important consideration again in STALKER 2.

Of course there is hunger and sleep. I meant to say sleepiness. Thirst has been introduced in mod ANOMALY, so I'll probably include it, but just in case. I want mineral water or sparkling water besides energy drinks, for role-playing. I would like to see a little more variation in food. Just a little bit of debuffs would be nice.

Modders added a thirst system and drinkable water to this game years before anomaly was a thing.

Again mistake. Little buff and big debuffs please.

Do these mechanics even provide immersion? They're usually so exaggerated, making your character drink water every hour or so. I really like the fact that you barely have to eat in Shadow of Chernobyl; sometimes you forget it even exists. I really hope the new sleepiness mechanic doesn't ruin exploration during the night, as I really liked the feeling of going on raids at night and coming back in the morning.

99% of the features and aspects that people call "immersive" are not immersive. That word is so overused in today's STALKER players (many of them play nothing but mods) nowadays that it's lost all meaning. I find it pretentious more than anything.

Yeah, that's how I see it too. People will mod stuff like mask overlays, that end up obstructing half of the screen when you equip a helmet, and claim that it's immersive.

I'm OK with a hunger and sleep system that punishes me if I neglect those needs for 24h straight or so.

I'm definitely NOT OK with a hunger and sleep system that makes me starve to death at 11:00 AM if I skipped Second Breakfast™ or fall exhausted at 4:00 PM if i missed the beauty nap after lunch. And I've actually seen mods like that (*COUGH!*anomaly*COUGH!*)

Well, you can drink, you have to eat, sleep. So everything is fine.

Honestly I hope there is an option to turn those off in the settings for people like me. Besides things like bleeding and weapon degradation, I find hunger, thirst, and tiredness to be overly punishing in most of the games that include them. I think that is a big reason why I enjoyed Metro: Exodus as much as I did.

I hope that consumption of alcohol would have some side effects at least, after all drinking a whole bottle of vodka in one go is not an easy treat.

In old games, drinking one bottle at a time was "safe", meaning that it would SLIGHTLY" alter your vision for a handful of seconds; drinking more in a row (as it could be needed to fight radiation poisoning in absence of specific medicines) would most definitely have adverse effects, making your vision SIGNIFICANTLY altered, thus making it really tough to keep going until recovering at least a bit.

They could bring it a step forward (pun intended), if beyond a certain level of drunkenness you could no longer walk in a straight line, and any movement input had a random degree of deviation from the intended direction.

You *can* drink, but *have* to eat and sleep? So thirst is not a need like the latter two?

i just hope we dont get hungry and thirsty after 5 minutes of running like some mods like to do.
