The Ultimate Edition seems kinda overpriced, too.
But yeah it has been sold out for quite a while.
Also, no updates from GCS on the physical release as of 11/2/24 and I'm getting a little nervous...
They put something out just after you posted this and they're doing another run of the physical editions and it looks like they will be delivered November 20. US ultimate physical edition is now up to over $500 so ♥♥♥♥ that. Not even going to pre-order anything at this point. Just gonna stick to GAMMA and wait for the inevitable typhoon of fixes over the next year.
Truly I hope those that worship and hoard money one day have molten gold poured down their throats in a death sentence. It's only deserved.
Greed is the least of your worries with this one.
So after taxes, shipping insurance, and shipping costs it came to $465 for the ultimate physical edition in the US. I did end up getting it. They say it should be here on the 20th but I think they're being a little generous with themselves.
I'm still worried that it is gonna be unstable or not be as open world as we expect.
I think Unreal engine is kind of taking over games a bit too much. With GSCs switch to Unreal Engine. They lost their proprietary software that they built all of their AI on. Will the AI in the game be as good. Can it even be as good. On top of that Epic has some very idiotic rules for using Unreal and if you go against any of it they can revoke your license. They have things like rules that control the way your characters are allowed to interact and talk in game. Some of that is tied to DEI stupidity.
I was very excited to see STALKER coming back, never ever thought it would happen to be real. But as time goes on I find myself more and more worried for what we will get. I want the game to be great and succeed.
Definitely not a fan of Epic but the old engines weren't great at all. It required the community to patch and fix it to function almost reliably. The AI was ahead of its time for sure but lacking by today's standards.
