Recommended CPU, worth to upgrade?
I've got a pc equipped with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600x and it runs fine, but i've seen that the recommended specs recommend octa-core processors like the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X.

Would it be worth to do an upgrade to another processor like the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X?

I would think so
Unreal 5 + open world = quite fckin' demanding

The specs are very likely going to be updated closer to release. High graphics need high-end hardware. You should expect that an upgrade will be necessary, but wait some more if that's not an urgent need.

Unless you're going to upgrade your rig in the near future anyway, I would wait for the release and some patches.

I saw a news about the company building on fire and all progress lost. Is this real ? I'm looking to see if I should refund or not.

Since the Am4 platform has been replaced with AM5 i would say its probably best to save money and get the best cpu you can get for your motherboard to squeeze out as much functional lifetime out of your current build as you can get.

Nobody regrets getting a faster cpu.

Did they update the recommended specs recently with the new release date? I seem to remember they were recommending 6-core cpus before. (That was why I upgraded to a 6-core a few months ago. Now I may need to upgrade again....)

If you can, do it, otherwise IT SHOULD RUN fine in that cpu unless developers just fail at optimizing.

No. Checking 2021's press news, I can confirm that the system requirements have not been updated since, and optimization comes near the end of the development.

Oh well. The game probably won't release until I have an Arrow Lake CPU anyway.
