A fire has reportedly torn through the Prague offices of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl developer GSC Game World overnight. The report comes from Vortex (translated via Google), which cites two anonymous sources and claims to have a photo of the damage, which it is not able to publish. It says that the fire “devastated” the equipment and interior.

The damage bill is estimated at 1.5 million koruna (approximately $65,750).

That sounds a surprisingly low bill to me, if we talk about damage to an office building full of industrial-level electronics.

Maybe its just the estimation for the loss of computer hardware.
The smoke and water damage on their own would be much more if its an entire floor but since GSC rents the building that would not come out of their pocket.

But worst of all i cant imagine how this would impact the people who work there to have yet another disaster happen to them.
GSC really has rotten luck but i really hope that they can find the strenght to carry on they deserve the best things to happen to them.

A fire broke out in our office in Prague on Thursday, September 7th.

Fortunately, none of the employees or office staff were injured in the accident, which is a great relief.

Even though the fire was successfully put out, one of the office floors now requires a complete restoration. Further details of the accident are still being investigated.

I express my deepest appreciation for your questions and the words of support we have been receiving during this time!

No anomaly, not even a "Burner", will make us stop in our pursuit of our final goal. We've dealt with worse than that before.

I'm sorry for what happened. And im sorry for my next question but it must be made. Does this hinders your progress? Does it endangers the release of the game ? I'd prefer refund and wait for a release In this case than long and hope. In my country games are not cheap and buying one is a though choice. And I chose this one. And hoped. Im not hoping anymore honestly
