The Gorguish Evil - Insane waves (Save included)
Not sure if it's intentional, but the waves get extremely strong relative to the previous ones.

I try to intercept the portal, but it overlaps with another wave of very strong divine (or whatever they're called) heroes.

First portal spawned in my prison so that was pretty much an instant lose as they pincered my heart and Gorgu.

After loading I thought I lucked out and got the portal in the same place as the enemy wave, but little did I know, it made it a whole lot worse.

While my units aren't diverse, the difficulty of waves increased so quickly that it doesn't feel like intentional design. From waves I can afk and don't have to care about to waves that take near no damage from my traps and 4-shot my units.

I'll check the save and forward your feedback.

Some general tips for this mission:
- you can upgrade your traps so they do more damage
- make use of Gorgu's skill
- a Guard room can help defending the Dungeon

How does one do this?
I bought the research in earlier missions for higher leveld traps but when selecting traps I didn't see an option nor did I see one in the traps menu. I stopped buying the research assuming it was potentially bugged.
Placing another trap on top of them looks more like rebuilding the trap, so that doesn't look right either.

All corresponding traps are automatically upgraded without delay after researching level 2/3 Traps. Their stats are increased so you do not have to manually upgrade your traps one by one.

Aah, makes sense. Perhaps phrasing the research differently might be appropriate?

Currently it says:
Unlocks Level 1 for all floor traps
Unlocks Level 2 for all floor traps
Unlocks Level 3 for all floor traps
Unlocks Level 4 for all floor traps

As every level of the research has the same wording and doesn't mention upgrading them, I interpreted it to unlock the ability to upgrade the traps or gain access to new traps of higher levels.
Same phrasing implies same behavior.

May I suggest:
Level 1: Unlocks level 1 floor traps
Level 2: Upgrades floor traps to level 2

This implies that the research itself upgrades the traps and not that we unlock the *access* to traps.

Currently the upgrades state "Unlocks new Traps and improves them" in the general Research description. But I'll forward your feedback to consider describing the levels more clearly. :grogu:

I just tested upgrading the research to level 2 and 3, but there were no difference in trap stats, at least not visually when selecting them. I can only assume it's a visual issue and that they actually improve.

Here are two savegames, the autosave has L2 and Big Eaty has L3, there are no differences in visual stats.

I'll check the description and report this.
I am testing the damage of the traps and it seems that this effects only the description. The damage of your traps should be higher.

Game send very weak heroes early even on brutal, but at some point enemy waves are extremely powerfull like the game wants, to finish you for beign too slow. I think 1 tier and 2 tier heroes should be stronger, and tier 3 should be weaker, my entire army was fighting single master flamer for 30 seconds, while everything tier 1 or tier 2 dies in 2 seconds.

I am just loud thinking, I still have to spend way more hours to make final verdict, but this is how I feel at this moment :)

Ive got the same issue, waves coming from 3 directions at once, very limited to how many units I can have and one wave wiped them out letting the rest of the heroes get in. The little snots arnt mining money fast enough either despite have loads of veins going so I just cant keep up with everything required.

I love how the voice over mentions how the heroes won and it shall be known forever, because while this level keeps spawing stuff constantly so i dont get a chance to heal or make enough money to make new monsters, it surely is going to be forever.
