Best Dungeons game?

I played Dungeons 1 for a bit but dont really remember it too much, judging from reviews D2,3 & 4 are way better. Is it worth it to go back and start at D1 or should I start at a different one?

What do you think is the Best of the series? :D

I like 4 more than 3, just seems to flow a little better. Also, I don't like being rushed, and I had that feeling often in 3.

I say start with the second game. The first one is a bit wierd, and gameplay is a bit different.
The best one would be 3 for me. 4 is a good game but not as good as 3.

D2 is also good but the age is showing, if you can live with that go for it. The big advantage is that the orcs, undead and demons are not united under his evilness so you have to play them individualy.

The 2nd redoes the formula, and is the template for 3 and 4. The DLC for the 2nd (Undead faction) starts the comedic writing of the rest of the series.

The 3rd is the start of the current story, with Tayla being the Chaotic Evil's general.

The 4th is more of 3, with refined mechanics.


If you are just starting in, I suggest starting with 3. Then its DLC. Then 4, and its DLC. Finally, 2 if you really want some more.

You guys are awesome! I think im going to go straight to 2 (Undead DLC if possible because they are my favourite) and work my way up.

Start with no. 2 but play no. 2 first and then its dlc. Dungeons 2's DLC continues the story from its main game.

My personal favourite was Dungeons 3 because I really liked the thing with progressing through a map that gets evilfied after we destroy it. Dungeons 4 doesn't have that map unfortunately.

Faptor, play them all I say (: I am sorta biased cause I played them all and had fun with them all. I just got Dungeons 4 on this sale, so only played a tiny bit of it but lovin it.

I got #2 and absolutely love it. It reminds me of Warcraft 3 but with advanced base building.

My favorite in order is 2,3,4,1. Honestly 2 was great. Stop simplifying everything and make it more dark and gritty instead of cartoony. IMO

Depends.
Gameplay wise i like 4 the most, there is much QoL by building your dungeon.
from the Story i would say 2 or 3, they are real close together and got some nice twists here and there.
from the visuals i like Dungeons 1 the most, it fellt a bit more gritty and was not so colorfull.

2 is boring, you survive first 10 minutes of the game and you win. 3 is the best coz there are hot succubuses and enemies can kill your entire army in few seconds if you dont position your units properly, also has the best art style and graphics quality. 4 has massive fps drops and long boring fights, still better than 2 coz enemies scale much better in later stages. 1 is some kind of weird tycoon game.

I played 2 +DLC and loved it. The Undead DLC was 10/10 for me but im bias and love the undead. Im waiting until payday then ill get #3 for the hot, succulent, jiggly.. uhh..gameplay.

start with dungeons 2. it doesnt have Thalya which makes it ultimately the best one.

Well I am still partial to Dungeon Keeper 1 and 2. Training room was better and not Room dependant for different creatures. All of this is all based on them. They just 3D Chess it.
