Fighting him is not an option, but luring him away with a single or 2 expendable creatures might work.
Can summoning the ultimate evil bring him down? Guess he will still raspawn sometime later then?
Don't worry too much about dungeon defenses, mainly concentrate on building your attack army and collecting evilness. Yes you'll be on the overworld about 75% of the time, I usually go demon-heavy with some healers for Talya.
Boost Talya's levels (that perk really helps) until you get Gorgu, he can take out Thanos easily, which gives you a nice window to blast everything you can find. Many times you can see where he's headed and beat him to it.
It's true that it takes a while to get to 15K, but I've done it where he's only at about 6K or so.
I've had the problem where my demons would go on strike, so bringing them underground at the right time seems also neccessary.
Any tips on leveling Talya?
I mean, I'm not sure, is her max level tied to the dungeon level ?
I think I will try for now to just get the main achievements and then try the level again for the perk.
I finally did it.
But I had to restart 5-6 times just because I was trying to scan my area first, so I wouldn't by accident run into spiders or worse....
I was basically saving and reloading countless times, brought dungeon lvl up to 6 asap, took down the good creatures as soon as they appeared and then, when they respawned used gorgu to finish them a second time.
Was able to keep Thanos under 4000 evilness.
By the time I got to about 10 000 the invasions were far more troublesome, honestly.
So yeah, quick gorgu and save/reload is basically the way to go.
Also the good creatures wont spawn until a certain number of buildings are destroyed I think. The game says "Hey send your creatures to delay him" but I dont think I bothered fighting him at all until I was jacked up later on. I would run from him and target something farther away, unless I had to steal his creature kill lol
I also cant recall what creatures you start with in this mission, or what I picked, but whenever i use demons OR undead, I'll try to get spells. If it's horde, potions make all the difference, speed and strength potion ftw. Also horde levels up the fastest if you take the perk that boosts xp gain so if youre running from tanos it's the strongest.
I also don't know how your fundamentals are but don't neglect OR overuse traps. Traps should be strong enough to deal with low level enemies, and eventually the squishier of mid level enemies. But generally theyre for delaying to give you more time. I'll tend to reshape the entrances of my base into a serpentine pathway and lace it with slime pools and saw traps. That 1 wittles down the weak enemies, 2 lets me drop my creatures ahead of them to soak up some easy xp and deal withthem when theyre slowed, and 3 delay their progress GREATLY so I have more free time to do what I want before I have to deal with them.
At the same time if you build too many youll be out of gold for ages and theyre never gonna be able to handle top level enemies
Also last protip; NEVER LET THALYA DIE! Whenever she dies every snot decides to bail on work to revive her, which is a massive loss to productivity, so keep her alive whenever possible.
When it comes to faction, I usually go with what is already in the mission. In this case demons worked well. Also the perk for increased damage against good creatures.
With certain perks and the right combination, traps can be godlike, but I'll admit that it takes some time to get there. Digging a snakelike path with saws and slimepools is good for slowing enemies down, but I like building thesse 2 types of cannons left and right of the pathway, since they form a nice synergy. A slime ball at a certain spot can also massively improve the effectiveness.
My last game I put some slime balls at the end of 2 really long hallways filled with saws and goo and found it was killing almost everything, eventually xD.
