Please Devs never Nerf Ghost army
I admit i was very hesitant to how fun Ghost over corrupted heroes would be, however just being able to make a 9x15 room and fill it with Ice tombs Give you an amazing fighting power, Ghost army is just a great all round way to max your Elves too, Wardens are great tanks, Rangers are still a great Range alternative, Rogues make for better Goblins since they can't perma die if you spec into Underneath first and Priestesses, well they're honorary elves whos healing can pretty much solo heal their way though any Horde or Demon army so they do wonder to slow down heroes.

anyway please don't ever Nerf the number of Ghosts you can make Ghost are pretty much at this point an unofficial 4th army of Evil even with Undeath already in the game

I don't think it deserves a nerf because ghost army takes a lot of investment to get to that point. It takes a lot of gold and evilness to get to a high enough research level, and on top of that the individual tombs cost evilness to build, so they should be good.

But yeah, ghost army is my favorite end game to shoot for. And if you use the perk that turns perma-dead minions into ghost heroes, you can start building the army early on. Which is also balanced because you can't heal them without vampire queens or teching up enough to build their room, making it difficult to keep them "alive" in the early part of the game.

I tried running a Ghost only army in a few missions that allow for them. The one that introduces the Ice Tomb specifically. They honestly seem to be pretty weak compared to the D3 converted heroes, to compensate for not being capped and having no needs, until you reach a critical mass at least. Definitely more of a late-game addition. They start at whatever level you researched undead to at the time of creation, so training them up fresh won't be an issue.

Also the better versions of the hero units (like High Priestress) do actually convert to a different version of the ghost unit, though you have to look at their stats to see the difference.

pick up the unit by itself, you can read their stats that way
Both Ice tomb and Vault of might are OP, coz can be spammed endleslly. There is no point of upgrading other things when you get access to any of those rooms, you can just keep gatting units for 50 evilness, or +1 lvl for 750.
As stated earlier, they're not OP because of how much it costs to "get there." You cannot simply start a level and start spamming units/upgrades via either one -- it's a process that can certainly be gamed/optimized a bit, but there's a reason why they're "late-tree."
I actually want them to go further. Make converted, ghost, and mutated heroes the main military force and the current units the specialists.

Something about taking heroes that are either knocked out or killed and using them to replenish ranks just feels so good.

Whether powerful or not. I even used the skill that slain creatures spawn ghost heroes. Haven't needed the actual tiles and structures.

It can't be done currently. Maybe someday or not. If not, I guess someone is going to need to group up people to do so.

And yes, I have my own idea written out of how it could be down with three factions.

No reason to nerf that, other people pretty much said why. On top of that, there's a couple even more broken builds with far less resource and time investment needed compared to that.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
