The torture chamber mechanic in this game is way inferior to the previous.

I said it. I thought the previous game actually made it harder to earn evil heroes, however those were powerhouses in turn. After all the requirements it awards you, the "only" thing you get out of it is evilness. While that is technically a rare resource, you are forced to invest alot to get to the point where the torture chamber pays for itself. Also I feel the demons are very reluctant to even both with captive heroes. Lvl 7 demons prefer to chill in the pool instead of generating that evilness. Overall it feels like a chore going down the demon tech tree to unlock it. Meanwhile undead have a much better tech tree.

I agree that the prison is far better than the torture chamber. Prisons start generating evilness with almost no requirement - needing a high level demons and a massive investment to get evilness from torture means it isn't even a competition. The game really seems to railroad you into going Horde on timed maps or Undead if you can take your time. The demon tree never really comes into play unless it's for spells.

I only unlock and build torture chamber to not make demons angry, other than that its useless room, prison is way better for evilness.

Demons are great with their cheap 666 gold units. Plus, that perk that gives them +50% damage to Good Creatures and +50% Evilness from them is great. The game says they get bonus damage to Elves, but it feels like the melt everything. It's not hard to get a prison if you're going Horde or Demon. It's like Undead Tier 4 and 300 Evilness I think. But yeah, I only get the torture chamber to satisfy needs. It's quite underwhelming.

It feels absolutely bad and a waste of ressources. In my game I watched my high level demons doing everything except torturing. This make the game look so unresponsive that's so bad... Did the devs ever play starcraft ?? Back in 2010 or something ?
