How to join an Alliance, I don't see it anywhere. I'm over level 5.

Don't know if I have the default settings (I am joining a alliance) but for me it's:

status lists (left side of the screen) >>>>> star (left upper corner) >>>> alliances.

Overthere is says that I'm allready member of an allinance, but I believe you can search an aliance there and then ask to join it via a button on that screen.
