Thank you. I made it 800x600, it's still smaller than I expected but whatever works better lol
So, it should be black bars around game window.
Set video driver and everything else where it avialble (monitor\tv OSD screnn settings) - set "Keep Aspect ratio" (if display not have this option but instead "4:3->16:9" or "normal fullscreen->widescreen" switcher - experiment which one less broke aspect - 4:3 for display resize 4:3 too cause video driver still apply black bars and make it looks like 2:3 - for me it better set 16:9 for 4:3 Disciples2 resolution... im talk about 1080p TV display actually, no such issues on pc displays).
Next. 1024x (and 1280 alternative) added in v.1.2 game update. To some maybe keeping aspects resons dev add this border for high resolution set. And also they add option to turn it off - stretch-to-fullscreen.
Its stil lkeep it on, i guess. If your video driver set to "Keep ratio" it be correctly resized up to your display. Its shoudlt be too much tiny.
This is another issue now for KX3Y. He have tiny even 800x600 as i understand. It mean hes video driver and display settings set to not stretching image at all. With that it be tiny for both 1024x+border and for 800x. If set to stretch - it be incorrect and more blury on current displays. If it set to "Keep..." it strecth as much as possible to keep aspect.
This is best option variant. Only one normal. With "Keep" it be stretched to normal size.
So central playable windows also stretched. But yes, borders strecthed too and still some space will taken by that border. I play it on differ devices with difer diplays\TV - this border never be a huge problem for me. Central window still large enough.
This border will appear only for non-main-map screens.

(how game main map screen looks like on TV, some old photo from web)
This is "Keep" set in video driver but 16:9 for TV screen (a very little bit stertched, 4:3 do much worse resize, i have similar model TV). For correct "Keep" set and for correct only one hogh resolution - 1024x - subj border will tak not so much around playable area of the showed on photo game 4:3 screen. Black bars, ingame border - and still large gameplay screen. it can be considered as UI element, same as panel on the right side of the map screen.
If you still not want to have that border at all - turn it off in ConfigEditor.
Or you can keep it enabled, set 800x600...
and isntall Verok's DisciplesGL wrapper-mod. Now change resolution from 800x600 from wrapper menu (by F4). It also have screen size option.
