Yeah, runs just fine in fullscreen if I check Direct3D on in the configuration tab - its a black, unresponsive screen otherwise like many others. I just want to run it windowed because the Steam user interface isn't available in the Disciples games.
Same here. But ♥♥♥♥ the windowed mode, why would anyone play like that.
No Steam interface when fullscreen.
♥♥♥♥ Steam interface, just alt tab.
So it won't change the whole game to fullscreen mode, rather it puffs up the battle screen for instance, making everything look pretty bad.
With the "stretch to full screen" option unchecked, you will notice a border around your building and fighting screens, consisting of the greyed-out adventure map.
Time, youtube, chat programs etc I hate alt tabbing every time i hear a noise.
Windowed mode can be accesible if you turn your monitor color 16-bit.
"Archeology" made me laugh
Of course you must set also 800x600, manually set\change refresh-rate to 60 hz (common), and check "Stretch to fullscreen". D3D in windowed ofc. No changes to desltop settings - ofc except previously set "Keep aspect ratio" in video driver (required change resolution once time).
Also set "run as admin" and "disable desktop themes" (twice) in exe-file properties for Windows 7. On Windows 8 set compatibility mode with al least Win XP SP 3.
Tested many times with FHD tv on both Windows 7 and 8 (x32+x64) and fullscreen and windowed. As others i have some problems with Windows 8 in fullscreen (normal FPS but game still too "long response") that fixed by Microsoft MSE +disable compatibility mode with XP (for fullscreen).
So any dxwnd or d3dwindower or other tweak needed only for Disciples (1) Sacred Lands or only some others game that really not worked in window. DSL game not worked in windowed even on WinXP.
