What engine is this game made in?
Just started to play, enjoying it so far.

Just wondering is this a custom engine? Since the game feels and plays very optimized.

Hi! The game is made in Unreal Engine 4. The engine might seem a bit 'heavy' by default, but you can really tweak alot of the real fps killers (shadows, lighting, translucency and so on)
I have disabled a lot of expensive graphical features, and made fast shaders and emulated a lot of things with cheap techniques, especially vertex paint.
All coding is done in Blueprint by the way.

Thank you for your question!
If you are interested, I have some videoes on my youtube-channel 'Slid studio'

I had the advantage of having a low-end GPU while devving, so optimizing came very natural to me: ) If you have a strong GPU, you might never bother investigating the graphics options, so I think it was a very good lesson for me.

True... I had to kind of ditch my old computer because of newer games, the killer was the Unreal Engine 4... 3GB VRAM on most games, forget it...

Sometimes it's better to just leave out some options and make the game playable on older systems. I don't create games so I do not know how that works. But I left a positive review for your game, and looking forward to future projects.

Best of luck. I'll go sling some more bugs now :D

i feel the "lower end" graphics actually give the game significant amount of charm

Yeah like how the original silent hill was more horrifying because of the low poly visuals it forces the brain to fill in the blanks
