Report a translation problem
The bugs I've had the last two weeks are things a normal playthrough shouldn't encounter unless very unlucky.
But... feels like I am about to catch a cold here, so perhaps that will force me to put the brakes on a day or two!
I saw this thread at the top and just wanted to chime in. Have you heard of Steam Input API? It provides for context based coupling of inputs to commands which can be rebound by users. You have "modes" of control represented by their own menus in Steam overlay, so for example you'd have a mode for exploration, swimming, using the glider, etc. All with their own menus and bindings that can be defined by the user. It's kind of hard to explain, but if you're every played Prey (2017) on Steam, I can tell you that that game has the best implementation I've seen. It's the best game to play with a Steam Controller bar none.
Not very many games implement it, but with the arrival of the Steam Deck I have a feeling it may be making a comeback.
Also I should mention I'm running this on Linux through proton so be sure its really a problem with the game and not something else.
And I've already finished the game so there is no need to hurry on my part to get this fixed, I just want to help you make this masterpiece better.

Can't really play a game nowadays without a controller...
Not sure if steam controller presets work for other controllers but I might try making one and sharing it.
I have been holding off for a while, due to the work it would need.
First, controllers does not seem to be entirely generic. In the previous attempt I did, it worked fine with the one I have myself (offbrand generic), but not with a xbox controller.
I am guessing xbox controllers are what most people use these days.
Second is to add support for it for the menus. They were not made with controllers in mind, so I need to hack in the ability to hover menu-buttons via the stick.
For now, I remember this post. I am quoting:
