That really seems to go against the whole home point function, doesn't it?
I can teleport to my home point at any time from anywhere, so why would I necessarily want to load there every time from a load game? When I get to a new place, I don't know if I want my home point to be there necessarily. But if I save there, I do want to load there.
I wish it didn't work this way personally.
You still set them the same way though.
By default, when you save at a home point stone that isn't your home point, it asks if you wish to set it as your new home point.
As mentioned you can use the assist for three of them, which a lot of people recommend -- even speedruns allow it.
I'm all for extra challenge, but having a save point not load you at that save point is just downright silly. Having 3 home points would be a nice addition, though. I'll probably enable that next time
ps. im only using a single home point instead of the 3, if that matters
