(Update)Strong auto attack Beatsmith/Nomad Build. Frost Cleave
I tried a lot of builds and found that this one does really good single target DPS.

Class: Beatsmith/Nomad
Class Growth: 60 points in Reaper

Weapon: Decapitator

Axe with 345 Atk, +50% Auto Attack Damage and 50% Variance

Head: Pirate Hat for 10% crit and 16 Atk

Body: Drifter´s West for 18 Atk and +20% Water damage

Accessories:
Nomad´s Emblem for 15% Auto Attack Damage and 20% Water damage
Crit Fang for 10% Crit and 20 Hit

Passives:
Attack Focus for 35% Auto Attack Damage
Equip Axe to equip Decapitator
Perfect Vision for 100% Hit
Adrenalin so that i can En-Water first turn
Stalwart just to use the last passive point

At the beginn of the battle u use En-Water this will give u another 9% crit chance and will enhance your attacks with +40% Water damage from your gear, my Beatsmith does already 3316 Damage with 1 Auto Attack at 70% crit chance and u can increase the damage even more with Beathsmith´s Rythm after 3 Auto Attacks u get 60% more damage
i deal 5305 with a full stacked Rythm against the lvl 60 Dummy with a unbuffed Beatsmith.

Update:
After i found out that snow pendant exists i made a build that is probably the strongest Physical build in the game. The Arcitc Chill scythe has cleave on it so you will attack all enemies with it.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2821881819
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2821882146

with 2 snow pendants u deal 50% more ice damage and after u use en-ice u also make use of the 45 magic pierce on the Arctic Chill scythe.
Rex vest will incrase your auto attacks even further and pirat hat will give u crit chance and more atk.after every auto attack the beatsmith passive will increase your damage by 20% to max 60% more damage after 3 auto attacks.

This setup, or at least something very close to it, was actually one of my favourites that I used for testing quite a few bosses.

I'm going to be totally honest right now, I quite like Beatsmith (and Nomad). I like most of its abilities, and I like its passive. I dislike the action locking (however, their speed is usually so high that 3 turns takes about 2 turns for everybody else).

Personally, I'd like to see Beatsmith's abilities changed to not lock the action, but keep the passive as-is to encourage that sort of play, but not lock you out so you can respond to dire situations. If that was done, Beatsmith would become my favourite and most used class (nudging out Nomad and Warlock).

That aside, I think this is a really cool build, and I might try something similar earlier on. I suspect that without the axe's passive, that it wont really be that good, but I'm just glad to see a powerful Beatsmith build, and a powerful autoattack build. Getting them together is a bonus... although unsurprising.

Hmm, I wonder how well this would work if you switched it around for a Cleave weapon (I can think of Scythes and Katanas with Cleave, so it'd take a passive or accessory slot). Of course it would be less powerful for bosses, but could be a fun random encounter slayer (and I'm kinda bored of Drown spam for random encounters).

I think the locking is an interesting way to balance the fact the abilities are really strong. Or at least the ones I used seemed that way to me.

Except they aren't. Warrior will out-hit Beatsmith, even ignoring stat gains. In fact, Warrior hits harder than everything, even Guillotine. The same can be said for their support abilities, except the MP healing one.

i tried this build with ths ice scythe Frost Chill (maybe gravedigger is even better because it has def. pierce) against Astley´s team and it work really well there it also is good against random encounters but u need 2-3 hits most of the against high level enemies because the build is sustained damage and not burst ,it can´t really oneshot random encounters like other burst classes

today i found out that a 25% frost damage accessory exists.

and with the accessories i made one the strongest cleave build in the game

u cast en-ice to make use of the 45% res. pierce from the scythe

you can buy it in the capital

but i recommend the frost build in the post above u do more damage even single target and u also cleave

I confess, I never really "got" the Beatsmith. Whatever tank I had going usually had enough secondary duty casting Valkyrie spells or the like that just having them auto-attack three turns in a row would have gotten my party wasted on just about any boss battle of notable difficulty.
ThomasGreed Jun 27, 2022 @ 3:43pm
no on this build u don´t play him as tank u need another tank in your party u play him as beatsmith/nomad use en-ice and just autoattack u do nothing else than auto attack.

where did you find snow pendants
Arkhne Jul 11, 2022 @ 11:04am
For availability:

Drifter's Vest is unlocked in Shoudu Province, then buyable in the Capital and Shoudu.
Snow Pendant: Drop from Ice Construct in the cave just north of Triton Shrine.
Decapitator: Locked room on western side of Castle Ramparts, enter from Tall, Tall Heights.
Arctic Chill: Drop from Hermetic boss in Tall, Tall Heights.
Rex Vest: Drop from Rexosaur boss in Jidamba Tangle.
Nomad's Emblem: Fished in the fishing spot on the raft south of Sara Sara Bazaar.

Frost Reaper Scythe makes a decent Single-target alternative if you don't have these weapons, I think it comes from a chest in the Tall, Tall Heights. Kokaiji with Gaia Vest is a decent Cleave alternative before Arctic Chill, both from in Shoudu Province.
