Also you can actually land in the water for a second with, say, the Owl before it registers you as drowning, so if you exploit that you can *really* cheese the place. Plus there's lanterns so if you walk onto them, they work as little checkpoints.. So if you miss a jump just switch mounts, drown, and poof back up there you go.
Ahhh I had my suspicions but that makes a lot of sense. Yeah, I left quintar races alone after trying out the first one lmao
Everything I did exactly to a T. I realized a little too late (towards the end of the dungeon) that I could get away with the owl being in the water for a second
Everything considered, the save points were still pretty bad for me(maybe because I'm new to platforming games?): they were spaced at around after every 6-8 jumps (way more compared to prior platforming dungeons) and towards the end, if you fell off and accidentally landed on another ground, your save point would get reset - which happened to me a couple times.
It was great coming up with ways to beat it but holy cow was it difficult and fun
Golden Quintar is for those who cannot.
Don't let anyone tell you different.
Just came across an NPC discussing the Sequoia, he mentions that "apparently it's impossible to do without the golden quintar" so the owl/fish method does seem to be a cheese ... for anyone wondering where the NPC is: Most right spot of Quintar Reserve, right below the Eastern Chasm, He also gives the map to the Sequoia Wish I had that earlier ...
I think it's more fun without the Golden Quintar, I'll always believe that's the real cheese.
