Ah good tip, I just played a 52 minute game on small map normal difficulty and figured I wouldn't find the egg because it wasn't on the dragon map, so next game I'll try a medium or large size map on Normal and hope to find it.

I actually found the squid guy in my game and then some weird probey bomb looking device I also found, the bomb blow up when it touched the squid (or just made a loud noise but did no actual explosion) and ended up freezing the Squid for quite a few minutes. It was a first for both for me.

I did try manually setting the time in Windows 10 to like February 18th, 2024, the version number was the same and nothing indicating the event on the main menu so I just hope it actually works lol, it takes about an hour of gameplay just to find out.

So the bombs explodes and makes a big cross. The squid thing (called Squidley) gathers resources that lay around, so if there was no resources to collect it will just stand around doing nothing. You should be able to tell if changing the date work by lantern decoration in the dome. Also I would recommend Large map size, there is a chance that Medium still will not have red layer or a cave on red layer. Also... you can play with any modifiers you want and still you will be able to unlock new stuff. I'm unlocking stuff on Large, with No Monsters and Mass Iron modifiers, to make it faster ;)

Yeah I JUST read that and came back to this thread.. changing the date does not show any lanterns, so I think the game updating to v3.2.1 after the event ended it or something because I have not seen any hint that its a lunar event.

Not sure how I can get the game to go back and have a lunar event so I can get the pet, but frustratingly right now I cannot figure it out. I have played 2 games, one on small, one on medium, (I don't have large or higher unlocked yet), no egg, and no dragon cave yet.

I've set my PC clock to February 15th, 2024. Maybe I need to unhook my internet also? The problem is I don't know how the game thinks there's an event if I never loaded the game with it live, also I disabled Allow Telemetry.

Though if you are unlocking things with modifiers, are you getting dome decorations? Maybe its because I never started the game up during the event so I never saw the decorations, which would screw me until next year.

Edit: Oh no, I am stupid. I do see a Lunar Lantern hanging from my Artillery Dome, I just never noticed it before because its so small. Glad I watched a youtube video and noticed it there, I watched how you find the cave and what to do so now I am better informed! Hopefully I can unlock the modifier and large map so I can find the dragon cave easier.
